I am currently taking my first semester of a foreign language but I am really thinking about dropping the class due to schedule conflicts. If I drop by Friday the 21st I will not get a "W". But I plan on taking my foreign language requirement over the winter intersession. My question is do you guys think that the Berkeley and UCLA admissions officers will look down on my application because I waited until the last semester to take my foreign language? Or do you guys think that it is ok If I wait until my last semester to take foreign language? If I complete my foreign language this semester I will have completed IGETC but I really don't think I will be able to complete the class with my current schedule. (darn Mon/Wed/Friday classes). Just in case it is important I am beginning my third year at a CCC even though I am already at 57 units and one foreign language requirement away from transferring.

In other words is it a big deal that if I wait until winter intersession to complete my foreign language requirement?

It aint matter.... don't worry just take it during winter...
Did you take SAT II Language?

No did not take the SAT's. So you don't think there will be an issue for UCLA and Berk if I wait to take the foreign language requirement?

Yah...not at all... just take it during winter or spring..

Took my foreign language in spring prior to transfer. Had no problem getting into ucla/cal. It shouldn't matter much unless its a major requirement.

Thanks for the responses I talked to a Berkeley rep and they said it would have no bearing on my admission chances.
