I am writing to appeal my dismissal from --------------------------------. I was not surprised, but very upset to receive a letter earlier this week informing me of my dismissal. It was very devastating news. I do not blame anyone but myself for this very sad consequence. My actions have let a lot of people down, especially myself due to my reckless behavior for which I do regret deeply and sincerely.
This experience has taught me a lot about myself and the consequences of my actions. I do not condone violence and I am not a violent person in any way. As a teenager I resided in … queens which is a very tough neighborhood. Going to high school there was even tougher. I graduated from…high school with an advanced regents diploma where the graduation rate is less than 50%. With that being said I have never been in trouble with the law, suspended or expelled from any school I have been to. I am very hardworking and dedicated to my school work. The only reason I did hit ------------ with a screwdriver was solely in self-defense . Im not saying it was the right thing to do but at the moment that was one way to get away from the situation. In addition I was not intentionally trying to hurt anyone or cause physical harm in any way. I was just trying to get him away from me. As a result I was injured and had physical damage to my face and a back contusion.
In conclusion If I do get a second chance and accepted at school I can assure you that this will; never happen again.my plan is to stay focused on school and stay away from drama and negative people. Even if this means only taking online classes. I only have one semester to finish my associates degree and will be the first in my family to graduate from college. Also my mother who is dying of cancer would love to be able to see me graduate and set an example for my younger sibllings.
