Need help!

Hey guys a couple of days ago, I got the dreaded email saying that my senior year grades were poor and thus served as grounds for the admission office to rescind my admission. I'm going to be attending UIUC as a business major and my senior grades turned out to be:

AP Calculus BC - D (the grade that is pulling me down)
AP Government - B (Although I had a C+ for one of my quarter grades
Honors Geosystems - B- (Another class where I had a C+ for one of my quarter grades)
AP English Language - A-
Communication Residency Lab - A
Journalism - A-
Film Study - A

I responded to their email within a hour detailing why my grades slipped. My grandfather died in December and my mom, being a single parent, took this loss adversely and changed completely as a person. I had to work and that took away from the time I had to study.

I also admitted that I contracted a little senioritis (I wanted to be honest) and that is why my BC grade was so low, although I tried to pull it back up and ended up with an A- for my 4th quarter grade.

I guess I just have a couple of questions as of now. Any response or feedback will be greatly appreciated

1) How likely am I actually going to be rescinded?
2) If I do get rescinded, when will I find out? What will happen then?
3) Is there anything I can do right now to help myself out?

Thanks in advance again for reading this you guys.

Question: are those your final overall senior year grades or just grades from the third/fourth marking period/ second semester?

Overall grades

I also got a dread e-mail from UIUC two days ago. I am an international student. I have many C’s and a D in my senior year.I got a GPA of 3.15 out of 4(weighted GPA) in my senior year. They gave me the opportunity to explain on my poor academic performance. I sent and e-mail and explained to them that

  1. I am an international student and English is not my first language and I need to shift my focus on improving English instead of regular schoolwork to do well on SAT and IELTS tests.
2.I was involved in extracurricular activities sport competition and senior student’s event.
3.I voluntarily attended military training at my country to be exempt for being a soldier.

I am going to U.S. this Saturday (June 29) to attend IEI transition program over the summer. This e-mail really hurts my feeling as I take the plane half of the world to be there.
I am so afraid if they revoke my admission to UIUC.

1) How likely am I actually going to be rescinded?
2) When will they make a decision on my admission status.

Anyone who has ever experienced anything like this please tell me.

Any response is highly appreciated.
