Hey guys a couple of days ago, I got the dreaded email saying that my senior year grades were poor and thus served as grounds for the admission office to rescind my admission. I'm going to be attending UIUC as a business major and my senior grades turned out to be:

AP Calculus BC - D (the grade that is pulling me down)
AP Government - B (Although I had a C+ for one of my quarter grades
Honors Geosystems - B- (Another class where I had a C+ for one of my quarter grades)
AP English Language - A-
Communication Residency Lab - A
Journalism - A-
Film Study - A

I responded to their email within a hour detailing why my grades slipped. My grandfather died in December and my mom, being a single parent, took this loss adversely and changed completely as a person. I had to work and that took away from the time I had to study.

I also admitted that I contracted a little senioritis (I wanted to be honest) and that is why my BC grade was so low, although I tried to pull it back up and ended up with an A- for my 4th quarter grade.

I guess I just have a couple of questions as of now. Any response or feedback will be greatly appreciated

1) How likely am I actually going to be rescinded?
2) If I do get rescinded, when will I find out? What will happen then?
3) Is there anything I can do right now to help myself out?

Thanks in advance again for reading this you guys.
