Hi, some questions
1) does the words change each year, I mean like big changes? ( will it help if i go over the words that are on the real tests in 2007)
2) does the vocabulary in the blue book actually appears on the real tests?

If you are a regular reader, then I wouldn’t worry about the vocabulary. Oh and just fyi I found the word mawkish every time I took the SAT.

the thing that collegeboard touts all the while is that the SAT is a “Standardized Test” so on that basis each test should be the same they can’t really introduce a new concept or new word that has never been used on the SAT before. If they do then people would complain about how they were given a much harder test.

So they tend to recycle SAT words, the word could come from a 2010 paper or a 2009 paper or a 2005 paper, you’ll never know. The good thing though is that Direct Hits produce a list of words that they have seen occurring frequently on the SAT so it would be best to get that book and study those words.

Moreover there is a thread here on CC that lists some frequently seen SAT words. If I find it I’ll post it here.

Voila!

direct hits is the best SAT vocab book, it’s like the BB but for vocab, u have to start with it then start memorizing extra words from other books if u need more
