im italian, good at math and i just took the SAT scoring around 1800, 780 in math. 18 years old good soccer player playing in a team for money, italian mothertongue, good english, chinese and spanish speaker, i just spent one year on a AFS programme in china. next year im going to australia for a gap year in order to get some money. i was wondering what are my chances to get in a good college like MIT to study math with a total scolarship, maybe for soccer. please im really really confused right now about what i could do in the future. thanks

MIT is a reach for anoyone and NCAA rules are made as such that you just wouldn’t be able to get a scholarship, or even play soccer in an American college.

i dont know much about NCAA and its rules, why do you say i probably wouldnt be able to play or get a scholarship??

If you played professionally then you cannot play college-level soccer in the US. That’s a basic NCAA rule any prospective student-athlete must know.

ok but im not playing in a professional team. that doesnt figure out on my id as a job. its just that i get some money for every match i play, im not getting a regular salary… in this case would it be difficult to get a soccer scholarship??

Beyond that I can’t tell.
