alright guys UPDATE:

sad to say there is almost no way of getting in for fall this late in the game, which i understand. my transcript still hasnt processed and the lady said it would be in their system by thursday or friday. she also suggested that after she looks at it, if she sees everything is ok, i could attend any CC i chose, either TCC or MDC are my options, take the classes fsu wants me to take, and then if i get A's and B's ( i plan on getting only A's obviously) that i wouldnt have to reapply or anything, just start spring at FSU like its all gravy.

That sounds great kauffman!
So which CC would you choose to attend for the fall?

^^^lol, thats another decision all together. if the admissions lady gives me the green light to attend FSU in the spring i will most likely attend TCC in the fall and crash at my friends apartment for the semester.

that brings up another question, i applied online to TCC today and got accepted. i sent my transcripts and will order my SAT scores to be sent when i get home. i know the local community college has a cutoff date of august 25/26 for fall registration, is it the same with TCC, or am i too late like i was with FSU???

It says on the TCC calendar that Fall registration is 8/18-8/22 and classes start 8/25.
Online Academic Calendar / Academic Affairs / About TCC / TCC Home - Tallahassee Community College

It looks like you can search their EAGLENET to see what courses are available for Fall.
https://eaglenet2.tcc.fl.edu/registration/coursesearch.jsp

You might even be able to go ahead and register if you have your id and password already.

^^^ god what would i do without this forum.

how can i register without going to orientation?

I don't know if you can register without going through orientation. I remember when my son took summer courses at Valencia CC he had to contact someone to open up his account so he could register as a transient student. At least you can start coming up with a schedule by searching for the courses you want to take that have openings for Fall. Perhaps there is someone on the forum who attended TCC and can give you better information.

I did see after I added a course to my cart and tried to check out that it said: New students are required to apply to the college through FACTS.org prior to registering in credit or test classes. Once you have applied, you will be provided a Student ID and PIN. Once you have been processed by the Registrar's office, you can use your Student ID and PIN in the above section when you use this shopping cart feature again.

I would call TCC tomorrow and find out exactly what you need to do to be able to register for your courses.

yea i will call tommorow. is there any chance imtoo late for TCC as well? i dont think so but nowhere on their website does it have any such information.

i applied and got accepted
ordered my transcripts to be sent- 3-5 days
ordered SAT scores- 3-5 days

what else do i need to do?

It sounds like you are fine. August 1 is the application deadline.
Steps to becoming a student at TCC:
1. Apply for Financial Aid
2. Apply for Admission
3. Transcripts
4. Testing
5. Orientation/Academic Advising
6. Registration/EagleNet
7. Pay Fees
8. Buy Books

Orientation / Student Success Center / Departments / Student Affairs / About TCC / TCC Home - Tallahassee Community College

Orientation is required for all new degree-seeking students. Students should receive an orientation invitation (pdf 7.02 MB) shortly after their admission to Tallahassee Community College has been processed. First time in college new students for summer and fall can RSVP for the date of the program they wish to attend by following the instructions provided in the orientation invitation.

It looks like they have orientation sessions on Mondays and Fridays until Aug 8 and then Monday, Tue and Wed August 11 - 20.

cybermom, you really are a big help. im too stressed right now over this whole thing, i cant even sleep. and then i get to work and im dead tired.

i will be praying tonight and tommorow night and the next that the lady bears good news for spring. if not, it will be about the 7th time ill be letdown regarding college this year. im about to give up and just get a full time job...NOT (although its so much easier and less stressful than this, i brought it upon myself)

UPDATE

FINALLY SOME GOOD NEWS. Hege Ferguson is my savior, she is the assistant director of admissions at FSU and has informed me today after i sent her a copy of my facts.org high school transcript that she will work with me for spring. YAY!!!!!!! i will attend TCC for fall and recieve good, if not excellent grades, and then make a smooth transition over. i am a bit sad because i will be giving up any help from my mom, she is totally against this last minute decision, my luxury car ( yes i was spoiled as a high school student), and most other amenities ive had until now. she is going to cut ALL financial support but its alright, ive learned now it doesnt matter what car you drive or how much crap u have, i wouldnt have been happy still living at home. so forget all the bull****.

ill keep everyone posted.

congratulations! i'm so happy for you that it worked out. everything happens for a reason...fall will fly by in no time, and then you're at fsu! :]

Kauffman

Congrats on the great news from FSU! Stay focused on your goal, work hard, get great grades and maybe you will gain your mom's support and respect after the fall semester has ended and you officially become a Nole.
