Need to Choose Between Two Potential Formal Recommendation Writers

I'm currently in the process of deciding between two teachers for the second of my two formal recommendations, and I cannot figure out which one to formally (:P) ask.

My first option is my AP Lang/Comp teacher. She's witty and appreciates my humor, is a great writer, and would write a fine recommendation, but she isn't as close to me as my second teacher--my French teacher. My French teacher and I have an excellent relationship; I'm his top student, served as president of the French Honors Society, and am pursuing language studies outside of school. Now, on paper it's sounds like this decision is an obvious one, but the issue is that my French teacher is not a native English speaker and flubs his English from time to time. Because of this, I'm a little hesitant to ask him for a formal, but I know that if it were to be syntactically sound, it would be a glowing recommendation.

Things I should probably mention:

My other recommendation is coming from a Physics teacher.
I hope to pursue Bioengineering and/or International Development.
I'm pulling As in both classes.

Any advice?

How about this? Ask for both – then give to your GC and ask him/her to choose the best one.

I’d ask your guidance counselor’s advice because he has probably seen recommendations written by both teachers over the years. And schools don’t want you to go crazy, but it is OK to submit three recommendations.
