Nervous.. Need advice.

I'm currently a high school senior, (woo!) and I graduate in May. The school I'm going to is Eastern Michigan, which is a decent school. My high school grades were poor.. 2.9 overall but my act was quite high. How does transferring work? My dream school is the University of Michigan, right down the street. If I do great my first year, would I be able to transfer and go to UM as a sophomore?

I am transferring from WCC to Michigan. It all depends on what you want to major in, what classes you get done at EMU, and your GPA. I will tell you that no matter what Michigan wants your HS transcript, so it might be hard to transfer as a sophomore, a junior transfer might be more favorable. Let me know if you have any more questions. Just an FYI if you have to pay for classes, it might be cheaper to go to WCC if you are just planning to transfer to Michigan, plus WCC has a transfer adviser just for Michigan and a program called M-Pod.
