Does anyone know how accurate the UW Madison NPC usually is? My NPC is only 591 yet it still looks pretty expensive even with aid.
I meant my EFC is only 591.
I have found UW-Madison’s NPC to be extremely accurate, to the exact dollar.
Are you a Wisconsin resident?
Are you an underrepresented minority?
Madison isn’t great with non-diversity aid. However there are a lot of scholarships you can apply to actively.
I am caucasian and OOS @Madison85
I believe that tuition is increasing by $2k for non residents for next fall.
Expect to receive about $14k in grants, be offered $10k in loans, and to pay the remaining amount of $36k yourself.
Did you apply to affordable schools in your home state, or community college you can commute to from home?
@Madison85 Yes I did but UW Madison is still my first choice. Do you think there is anyway I could get $20k in scholarships?
Wouldn’t you need $36k in scholarships (not $20k) for the first year?
@Madison85 I could pay the leftover $16k
It doesn’t seem possible that you can have such a low EFC but have at least $64k saved to pay that gap each year for 4 years.
