Neuroscience major at Tulane

Anyone want to comment on their experience, or that of their kid(s) in this major? Where else had you considered attending and are you happy with your choice?

We are coming down for a first visit during crawfish fest but I'd love to establish a connection before April....

Hi sujormilk! I’m a sophomore neuroscience major at Tulane and I love it! I was accepted to/considered attending Rice, Dartmouth, Columbia, U Texas, Northwestern, & Texas A&M. Tulane gave me the best scholarship (besides Rice) and had a neuroscience major, so that’s why I chose to attend.

The faculty of the program are great- all very approachable, both for research opportunities, as well as help with coursework or general advice. Tulane offers great upper-level electives for majors including Neurobiology of Disease, Psychopharmacology, Biopsychology, Neurobiology of Learning & Memory, Developmental Neurobiology, etc. My experience with Tulane and the major has been nothing but positive.

Do you have any specific questions about the program?

What made you choose Tulane over Rice? And what was the difference in scholarships between Tulane and Rice? I’m considering both of them.

tulane14, could you please also tell us about any neuro research opportunities that you’ve had outside of class at tulane or that tulane helped you to arrange?

are you premed?

where is your favorite place to block out the world and study?

Just to point out, that response from Tulane14 was two years ago. As a current senior, she might still be checking CC, but also definitely might not be. Just so you realize.

ah, poo! I’d have followed heylynee off a cliff, too, I guess.

It’s very easy to miss. I have done it a few times for sure.
