i'm feeling kinda sad because i never got contacted for an interview. i applied early action, and i live in connecticut, like 20 minutes away from new haven. so i'm thinking it's probably that they already rejected me and don't feel the need to interview me. ahhh i just want to KNOW.

I don't think they eliminate people from interviews. They have an alumni network and try to find someone in your area to interview, but if they don't have anyone (since you live so close, maybe it's hard for them to find interviewers for the probably very high number of applicants in that area) don't worry - they guarantee that if they can't get you an interview, it won't hurt you.

Not to be curt, but you could have scrolled down a bit and seen quite a few threads that are exactly the same as yours. Not to mention the sticky "Interview Advice" thread, or the Yale website, all of which will tell you that not only are interviews the least important factor in admissions, but that not every gets one simply because there aren't enough alumni and too many applicants. There's no thought about who gets an interview and who doesn't. It's random. Don't worry about it.

And if you live 20 minutes from New Haven, you definetely should have taken the chance to do an on-campus interview.

yeah, you're probably right. i should have done that. oh well, i suck at life. in like 2 weeks and a day, this won't really matter anyway. i should be glad it's all out of my hands now.

Why in the world did you not drive to campus for the on-campus interview? We drove 3 hours each way for less than an hour in admissions for D's interview.

This is the problem with anonymous internet posting; I would hope that a parent would never treat an obviously stressed and nervous high schooler in such a condesending and less-than-kind manner if they were talking to them face to face.
