Shimama is hella bomb. So is Mebukijka.

These new pokemon make me want to cry (in terms of design). Even 4th gen looks better. ;_;

Competitively, though, this looks like it could really change the tiers. :O

It doesnt really matter what the pokemon look like, as long as they add to the competitive gameplay. Lots of legendaries are banned, so this may cancel out the base stat issue.

How game changing to the competitive gameplay was 4th gen?

^A dramatic change. Advance was dominated by stall, whereas DP introduced the physical/special split (meaning Pokemon like Gyarados finally had a chance) and the metagame became centered around heavy, fast offense. Not to mention Stealth Rock…

If I’m not mistaken, it halves all stats when the Pokemon’s HP is below 50%.

You stopped playing? W T F is wrong with you?

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to you. Pokemon has a huge fanbase in the 13-18 and 19-26 demographic. And there’s no reason it shouldn’t: it’s a game that was originally targeted at younger children, but the gameplay is so strategically involved (at least, this is true in competitive play) that many who played the original games stay with the franchise well into adulthood. Smogon, for instance, is one of the most popular Pokemon sites on the internet, and most of its members are in their late teens or early to mid-twenties.
