<p>Dr. Ernest Wilson, Dean of the USC Annenberg School of Communication & Journalism, was named a new member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. Dr. Wilson holds the Walter Annenberg Chair at the school. Dean Wilson has served previously as Chairman for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, National Academies Board on Research Data and Information, consultant to the World Bank and other professional offices.</p>
<p>Also named was Midori Goto. Midori is Chairman of the Strings Department at the Thornton School of Music. She holds the prestigious Jascha Heifetz Chair of Violin at Thornton. Midori has won other awards such as the Avery Fisher Prize, Suntory Hall Award and Messenger of Peace by the United Nations. The gifted musician was honored with the Crystal Award by Japan, their highest honor given to an individual in the arts.</p>
