New FRATS at Cornell Thread

have you not been to any parties yet, or something?

I have, just checking

Sig Pi Foam Party you have to be invited by a brother
FIJI is open party for everyone. It's at the FIJI house located next to SAE.

Here's my take on the frats as a girl.. obviously, some frats are borderline and could go up or down a tier based on your own subjective opinions.

First Tier
SAE, Alpha Delt, Sig Pi

Second Tier
DU, Sig Chi, Sig Phi, Psi U, Phi Psi, PIKE, Chi Phi

Third Tier
Chi Psi, Fiji, ZBT, Pi Kapp, Lambda Chi, Theta Delta Chi, Phi Tau, Sigma Nu, Delta Chi

Fourth Tier
Beta, Sammy, TKE, Phi Delt, Llenroc, Phi Sig

Fifth Tier
Acacia, KDR, DTD, AEpi, Kappa Sigma

There's a Steppin' Out in RPCC this Saturday. And the Ques are having a party on Friday.

What's stepping out?
Ques?

how come TEP isn't on any of the tiers? I went to their party on friday, it was alright.

It's when the MGLS orgs have a party to showcase their frats and sororities. The Ques are otherwise known as Omega Psi Phi

CornellChick: I do agree with many of ur evaluations...except I definitely don't c alpha delt as first tier. They aren't bad...just not first. SAE, Sig Pi, Sig Phi, and PIKE are definitely all great. I agree with everything else tho (altho I would make a couple little switches between the top two tiers). I also see fiji as being worse than other ones in it's tier (nice parties but the people [not all] there are pretty nerdy. Good annex parties tho). Good list, thanks

alpha delt is DEFINITELY first tier...no question period. cmon figgy you can't argue that.

all i would do is put Psi U up t first tier and bring Sig Phi down to third tier. (sig phi is perhaps arguable)

Ya that is one of the changes I would have made. I also would put PIKE on first.

ps I'm basing on parties and rep. I def think Alpha Delt is 2nd...and I know all the people I go out w/ agree. I have been to better parties, met better frat brothers, and seen better girls. The best being the ones I put in the first tier or mentioned earlier as being great. My fav nights so far occured at SAE and Sig Phi.

your list is extremely flawed. i can name two frats in the third tier that are definitely second tier/borderline first tier.

for example, i'm a transfer student so i go to a lot of bar nights at different houses to get a feel for them all and at ZBT they're having a big name rap artist sometime very soon in the backyard overlooking the gorge on their beautiful property. a concert at frat is awesome. that doesn't seem like third tier to me.

ajp let me know when this ZBT concert is please, and/or any other parties.
thanks

that list is definitely flawed. most people will say that the three top houses at cornell are SAE, Psi U, and Alpha Delt. these houses really don't even have to rush and they will have full pledge classes. they also mix with the top tier sororities.

and FIGGY, i know a lot of people in FIJI and the guys are not known to be nerdy by any means, and I'm pretty sure a lot of ppl here can confirm that. theyre known to be a a party house that parties all the time and are really diverese. they are one of my fav houses as well as DU. there is a lot of cross rushing between DU, FIJI, and Chi Phi.

lol well the two times we checked the Fiji frat house parties the girls were minimal and some of the guys were pretty nerdy (which is also wat we were told in advance...we were also told there were some cool/normal people as well so it's obviously just who is there at the time...for example the annex party I went to had really cool people). @ the house the music was blastin and it was a cool atmosphere so I'm sure it's just the timing of being there at the right time.

Alpha Delt was def cool, I just never saw it as first tier. But I guess everyone says it is...lol. The coke rep doesn't help tho. But I guess they r really rich...N they have a ginormous house and a secret passage way to the secret pledge building which is cool lol.

n SAE is definitely the sh.it

I haven't been to most of those lower tier ones so I'm not sure if they are right...but since no1 has ever wanted to go I feel like they r lol

the reputation of fraternities is usually based on teh sororities they mix with. so if a fraternity mixes witH DG, Kappa, Theta, Alpha Phi, on a regular basis they are usually considered an upper level house.

i'm planning to make a review/run-down/general view of all 40houses and post it on here some before christmas break so look out for that. im gonna try to make it as neutral and personally unbiased as i can. in the mean time check out all the houses with an open mind this fall and enjoy parties.

p.s.- most of the better houses (in terms of reputation) are on west, except for sigma chi.

What about Tep? Never been since it's on North but i heard it's good

ps I realized I didn't say what I really meant for Fiji. I didn't mean nerdy. I meant [this is the quote I've heard a couple times] "you can tell they weren't that cool in highschool". So they are fine but I pretty much just remarked about Fiji because I thought that lambda chi and zbt were better than it. But I guess maybe that wasn't a representation of the frat usually. w/e lmao

But ya I feel like we all agree enough so that nothing anyone is throwing out there is going to be won by debating it lol. The good ones are good and the bad ones are bad...

FIJI hasn't had any open parties this semester though...

Ya I was thinking maybe thats why they were bad lol. Pre-open party season at the frat was when we went. (granted the annex was actually really fun). I'm sure I'll eventually end up going to an open party sometime this semester and I can c what it is like then.

honestly, and i'm not just saying this because some of my good friends are in the house, but FIJI is known to throw some of the best open parties on campus. most people will agree with me on that. theyre having a party this friday so u should defintely check it out.
