Hey I applied to University of Maryland-College Park in February. They said they wont make a decision until they recieve my 2nd semester grades, at which point, I will get a decision in 4-6 weeks. Now, since I applied, I got an internship at Radio Disney over the summer, and I also got a $1,500 scholarship from my work. Would this be a good idea to tell the admissions committee, espically because my grades are sort of boarderline? And if so, how should I word the email? I already have sent three letters of reccomndation, which were not required, so im worried that by doing this, it may look like I am compensating for my grades?

It can only help; it won't hurt. Do you know the specific person to email?

I think I would say something like:

I would like to add the following supplementary information to my application:

Radio Disney: Summer Internship 2007. Will (describe what you will be doing). If it was a competitive application process, describe that.

_____ scholarship: Received $1500 scholarship from ______, award based on ___.

(if it is your first choice school) University of Maryland continues to be my first choice for transfer in my sophomore/junior year.

I would be happy to provide the above information in another form, such as hard copy by regular mail, if you prefer. Thank you for your consideration.
