Has anyone heard anything about a New Student Reception?

(not new student confrence)

yes there is one this weekend (27th I think) and another one on the 4th of April. I am not going to either one though.

who got the invites for this?

I think everyone that have been admitted to TAMU received an email regarding the reception. It’s for the entire class of 2013.

Yeah those admitted. I’m going to April 4th.

hmmmmm
my daughter didn’t get one… who should I check into this with?

My son didn’t receive one either.

Maybe it went into your spam file so check there. The email I received was sent March 12th. The dates are Friday 3/27 or 4/3

nope, not in spam folder…
what are the details? There really is no way for us to attend since it is on a Friday and we live so far away, but I am confused as to why we didnt get the email.

Ahhhh… I didn’t get an email either but I DID get it in the mail awile ago… but now I can’t find it! Anyone know if the information is online? I couldn’t find it through a search. And do we need to register by a certain time or just show up?

Thanks for posting that
But I just clicked it now and:

“Registration is over for this event. Please check back later for future reception dates.”

popped up =-/ ohhhhh wellllllllll
make sure to tell us about it if you go though!

Registration is over for this event. Please check back later for future reception dates.

This statement leads me to believe there will be other receptions. Maybe they are doing it by college or alpha or someother logical way.
Thanks for the information, We did not get an email or letter about this - and wouldn’t be able to attend either of these dates anyway, Prom one day & Senior photo shoot the other.

Besides, being on a Friday - it would be nearly impossible to get there in time for this 1.5 hr event. Not sure I would drive 3 hrs for this anyway.
Hmmmmmmmmmm

answer I received about New Student Reception:
“We invited admitted students from Austin, Houston, Dallas, Brazos Valley, and San Antonio”

we do not live in one of these areas…

what a bummer =/ but I am sure its not big of a deal if we dont go… and college station is 3.5 hours from where I live anyways and the reception is only 1.5 hours… so its not really worth it.

I was told they would put us on the list if I wanted to attend. I told them if we had the invitation like the other kids did, maybe we could have planned on coming tomorrow - but as of today - it is too late to make arangements for tomorrow and next weekend is Prom.
It somewhat ticks me off that everyone was not invited to something for the class of 2013. Sending it to the big city kids - sure that does hit the majority of the class of '13, but it just isn’t right to not include everyone in the invitation. I let them know my frustration and disapointment that the entire class of '13 was not invited to a reception for the entire class of '13.
They should have included everyone - even the out of state kids instead of 5 major cities of Texas…
