I have an email in to Student Financial Services, but in the meantime (it is a busy time for them) does anyone know if the new Technology Fee is covered by Bright Futures LOCAL FEES plan or not? I know the Transportation fee is not. I thought that the Student Facilities Fee was covered last year (not totally certain but thought so). I thought that the only thing not covered last year with Prepaid Tuition and Local Fees was the Transportation Fee.

Just trying to figure out what will be left for BF and how much of a BF refund we will get back to use to pay for rent.

Thanks.

The SFS page mentions the new fee, and all the Bright Futures changes (unrelated) but not whether the new fee is covered by Prepaid.

Bright futures awards are now based solely on a static amount times the credit hours being pursued. Bright futures is designed to pay for tuition, not the fees.

For FAS: $126 per credit hour

For FMS and GVS: $95

From what I understand Bright Futures never covered any fees for classes. You may be talking about Florida Prepaid, which the standard plan does not cover fees.

So sorry. I meant PREPAID LOCAL FEES. I know BF does not. I have a huge typo in the first sentence.

Anyway. I have clarification for PREPAID LOCAL FEES plans that they do not pay for the Student Facilities Fees, the Transportation Fee or the Tech fee. These are NOT LOCAL fees they are other fees. If you have prepaid tuition AND local fees, these three fees are NOT covered.
