I’m new to Alabama, so I have a few questions. Let’s say I get a 32 ACT and receive the Presidential scholarship, I know that covers full tuition for four years, but does that include room+board? Also, if I receive the scholarship do I have to be in the honors college? Last question, what are the requirements to keep the Presidential scholarship as far as GPA wise?

An out-of-state first-time freshman student who meets the December 1st scholarship priority deadline, has a 32-36 ACT or 1400-1600 SAT score and at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA will be selected as a Presidential Scholar and will receive the value of out-of-state tuition for four years.

Tuition does not include room and board.

I understand, but how about my other questions, any answers please?

You do not have to be in the Honors Program to receive the Presidential Scholarship. I think you have to maintain a 3.2 or 3.5 to keep the scholarship - you can check with the scholarship office to be sure.

Woah, 3.5 is a little high, is it 3.0 you need to keep up in college? Or is it really 3.5?

Hawaii boy you may be right. I know you have to have a 3.5 to get the Presidential scholarship. To maintain the Alumni Scholar award you have to maintain a 3.0. I would think they would be the same, but I’m not for sure. Hope I didn’t mislead anybody- check with the scholarship office to be sure.

The GPA to maintain any scholarship at UA is 3.0
