I just took my SAT and was surprised by one of the sections. I think it was a writing section (18 questions, 25 minutes).

It was a big passage with question numbers included in the passage which correspond to questions.

Is this normal or is this a new type of section format? I have never seen a section like that in any of my practice tests.

Does any body have any info. about this?

Thanks

That definitely seems like an experimental. I took the SAT today too, but I think my experimental section was a reading section. The main passage was dialogue, kind of like a play, and there were questions about it that referred to the previous questions. It was really weird!

Did anybody else get that section?

I got this one too! I posted a question about this before I saw this. I was confused as to why none of my friends got the same section and why I never came across the type of question asking for lines providing support for the previous answer during my practices.

I had it, it seemed like it was ripped straight from the ACT. I almost didn’t even do it.

They are testing questions for the new SAT format.

Yep! I got this same exact section as well. It was beyond easy so I’m a little jealous of the freshmen this year if that’s the new SAT format.

Did you all think the new experimental section was easier than the current SAT? My concern is that to compensate for easier questions, they will have to increase the time-pressure.

I felt it was pretty easy, except for some parts. I don’t think it followed the traditional easy-medium-hard format, though.
