Today is a shock. LU has dramatically changed their website. Never mind that my ten favorite links no longer link, or that I cannot find a lot of what I am used to finding. I wish we all had gotten a heads up. My kid will also be in for a shock when she sees the new site upon awakening today. How do you all like it? I know I will adjust, but................wow!

I like it a lot. I thought the old website could use a refresh. Although having a “library” tab at the top bar is kind of odd in this day and age… parents care a lot more about the library than the kids do. In this age of electronics and intra-library loans, the actual on-campus library isn’t a big selling point to many students except as a study space (and we are a book loving family… but I still think this is the case).

The ‘webmistress’ was fantastic in very quickly answering two emails that I sent out about the new site and explaining new navigation features, plus thanking me for letting her know what I had trouble finding. That was very refreshing, literally! You are right, intparent…time for a change! Thanks for responding to my angst. I am calming down as I ‘hunt and find’…

If it is anything like the University library where I work, the library’s website provides access to interlibrary loan services and many of those electronic resources, so a quick link is useful for the students who want to use authoritative sources.

I really like the look of the new website! As I was looking at various college websites, I couldn’t help but notice that Lawrence’s previous version was a bit small and cluttered, and was due for an update. I’m sure it will be an adjustment for those who use it regularly, but I’m glad they’ve made things bigger and brighter.
