I’m enrolled in a public high school as of now , Im going into my junior year and i want to get accepted into NYU. I currently have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 and I’ve taken 2 AP courses which I scored a 4 and a 5 on and the rest of my classes have all been honors classes, next year I’ll be taking 3 AP courses. Im taking my SAT in a couple of months and I was wondering what scores I would need to get that would help me along with the GPA I have now? Also as an extra I’ve been doing an internship at the courthouse and I am president of the law academy in my school and Im not sure if that makes me stand out at all.
Sounds like you’re on a good track but wait until you get your SAT scores until you can really figure out where you stand. Also, be aware that NYU is notoriously expensive.
Honestly, SAT will play a good/big role. I had a good GPA, couple of APs, but not so good SAT, so I got rejected. Since you became junior, you seem to be doing well for that. Put some time into SAT. If you get 2000 + then you have more than enough chance of getting in! [also: volunteering, NHS, clubs, etc]
