Night vs. Morning: The Ultimate Study-Time Debate

When is the best time to study? Night or morning?

night, but i do like morning on the bus or as im walking into class

It’s much more quiet on night to get some real work done, especially studying for tests.

technically, morning and night are almost the same because in psychology you learn you have few distractors when you sleep between studying and the test. However, if I’m feeling sleepy it’s much harder for me to encode the info and retention is worse. Unfortunately, we don’t always get to feel awake at 2 am.

Sometimes, I get so tired during the week that I fall asleep around 8pm and wake up around 4am, give or take an hour. I then do my homework when I wake up until around 7am, when it’s time to start the morning routine. I actually love doing my homework that early. I have so much energy and so few distractions that I can get my work done. However, it’s not always practical (nor socially healthy) to fall asleep regularly at 8pm, so I don’t do this very often.

^ Lol that’s close to what I do, I just sleep earlier and wake up a bit earlier than you. But I can’t ever get much done in the morning. Either because I am not fully awake, or because I feel I have the whole day ahead of me and procrastinate.

Night because morning is too hot especially here in cali…

Morning. I wake up at 5:00 AM every day. I’m past my prime by 9:00 AM.

What’s wrong with late afternoon?

I work best at 9:36 AM exactly.

A little bit of both. It’s hard for me to pull a continuous multi-hour homework/study session.

I generally try to get two thirds of my homework (the harder, more subjective assignments like essays and lab write-ups) done before I go to bed, then I finish everything else (math, readings) and study for tests in the morning.

Works for me :D

I tend to like night better because there isn’t that rush to finish before a certain time. You can just keep going and going. Also, I’m more of a night person. But I do tend to do math better in the morning.

bumpp we need more responses

Well it’s usually that…
In the morning you go to class
At night you do homework and revision

night. 10char.

depends on how i’m feeling.

usually a night i’m feeling great and am comfortable doing Hw/study then
sometimes im feeling too wasted so i sleep earlier and wake a few hours earlier to complete hw/study.

I like to study at night before I go to bed. In the morning I’m normally “out of it” and I’m basically like “Lolwuuuut?” But, I do study a lot right before we take the test/quiz.

I do a lot of the “epic cram right before test is passed out” studying.

My Dad makes me study for science tests because the tests are really hard to get perfects on.

lmfaooo bump it up

At night, cause you can always take extra time to finish it if you need to, and i get sick reading on the bus.
