NJ Governor's School 2009

hudson county, still waiting on word from IS -- hopefully by Monday

Congrats JoshCasto!

I live in Middlesex and still no word from IS...

iEatReeds: Hey, I'm just Internet obessesive.

cloisicecream92: I didn't read it, but I stay after class to talk with him everyday (I have lunch the next period). Plus, word gets around of what teachers say to other teachers.

supermodella: No other 2009 groups that I know of. Saw you created Public Issues though, haha. My friend was waitlisted to that school.

jblpright: Mine was sent in, so I assume so.

baconchedda: Do you have any other alternatives? If not, you may as well stick with Gov School, 'cause... why not? haha.

FashionCapital: And I'm sure there were people with 240 PSATs or with 200 PSATs who got in. 30 spots, not just 1, haha.

Atawallpa920: Yeah, safe assumption. I live in northern Central Jersey, about 60 miles from Mahwah. What county are you from?

gkapoor13: Thanks yo!

baconchedda

Go to GSE!!!! My daughter went last year and it was two weeks last year also. All the kids thought it was the most amazing experience they have ever had. Don't pass it up.

"I'm going to make the assumption that iEatReeds and I did not receive our letters yet because we're in South Jersey. Hopefully that's a reasonable assumption..."

=P. Yes. Let us keep hope alive. (Though, based on my grades/PSAT scores, I'm so not gettin' in.)

I'm from Cumberland County. Waay south.

@joshcasto: Ain't no shame in that, my friend!

Yeah bro, maybe even Tuesday then haha. I reckon the letters made it to Trenton and are sitting in the post office there.

I'm from Atlantic County, so I'll be one of the last to get my letter (along with Cumberland of course ;)). I haven't given up hope but this waiting is killing me. Random thought, but how big was the envelope / what was inside?

And if I have to wait until Tuesday...ugh. It better come tomorrow.

As long as I'm in the same boat as Middlesex, everything is fine (western Monmouth here).

I live in Middlesex County, too; I go to school in Somerset County, though.

What exactly was the county-by-county process for admissions?

This wait. Is killing. Me too.

I can't even start my homework, I'm so anxious.

Haha, yes, the envelope! Let us know what we're on the lookout for!

Homework? I'm on spring break, bro! No school until the 14th!

Pft. Jeaaaalous. No spring break until the 10th!

still nothing in my mail box. Same here i can't start my homework. And i have an NHS application to do that i can't even think about until i found out my results. After looking at Josh Casto's psat scores i have little hopes. I'm depending on my GPA, grades, essays and recommendations to get accepted. Well I better start my homework because the post office never mails on sundays. This waiting got me going crazy

NHS application this late? I already ran for president! (Lost by 5 votes, whatever.)

I'd assume they care more about ECs. My friend had a PSAT score in the 220's, applied to sciences, but b/c she had no relevant EC's, was rejected. The friend who had in the 200's was waitlisted, but he had Robotics. And the friend with the 210's and no relevant EC's was waitlisted to public issues.

But anyways... as long as you're above a 200 I think it won't affect it that much. If it's below that, the rest of your application should be v. good.

We'll find out tomorrow :)

<- 170 PSAT. Looozer!

Anyone up for posting stats profiles?

ugh i live in north jersey so i feel like i got rejected cuz i didn't hear anything...
my psats are in the 210s so they're not amazing

jblpright: That's what I was trying to do... haha

does anyone know if you didn't hear already that it's an implied rejection? lol
