NJ Governor's School 2010

Monday is judgment day! Who else applied? and to which school?

Yea dude I can’t wait! I applied to the school of the sciences at drew. Wbu?

engineering and tech at rutgers nb

Sweet. What do you think are your chances of getting in?

no idea man, no idea. Aren’t they taking in fewer people this year too?

here are my stats that I originally posted
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/high-school-life/834012-nj-governors-school-should-i-apply.html</a></p>

Yea cause of all the budget cuts they are taking in like 20 less or something than last year for each program.
Based on your Stats I think that you have a strong chance of getting in. See the problem with me is that me PSAT scores are low at 190 overall 93 percentile. But aside from my low test scores I have an extracurricular that others probably cannot match too. I was selected in my school to run a research program in collaboration with Rutgers where I learned everything from basic to advanced lab work and computer analysis for DNA sequencing. Then I taught the stuff to the 25 students in the group in my school. I have also been nationally published for discovering new proteins and I have also built a 3 dimensional model of my protein by myself. Hopefully this will help me.
I also have all the other extracurricular such as two years of high school soccer, band, community service (key Club President of largest club in state), and volunteer at hospital, National, literary, math, French, and music honors society. I am my School paper science editor. Rank in top five of my class.

I dunno what my chances are. I hope I get in but my downfall will prob be my PSATs. Yea cause of all the budget cuts they are taking in like 20 less or something than last year for each program.

Do they come out by email at exactly 4 pm?

I applied to Environmental Science.

The application said after school hours. Where did you hear after 4 pm?

Not sure, I’m trying to find it now. I think you may be right though.

I went to this link
[Rutgers: Governor’s School of Engineering and Technology](http://www.osd.rutgers.edu/gs/)
This was updated today.
It says between 8 pm and 11 pm

So just as we do SAT Score Countdowns, why not have a Gov School one
8 hrs 15 minutes to go

I just found this too.
http://www.state.nj.us/govschool/GS_Environment-2010App.pdf</a>
It says after school hours on page 3.

I would still trust the 8pm one because it was updated today.

The one on the rutgers page was updated December 09 so I don’t think it’s from today

“Admissions emails for our Summer 2010 program will be sent this evening (April 5th) between 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE THE EMAIL. We will be in session June 27th - July 23rd, 2010.”

It says this evening(April 5th), so the person must have meant today.

Gov School on Science was already emailed out, 2 of my friends just told me.

anyone else uncontrollably shaky?

I was shaky but now i’m relaxed without a care in the world. I got the e-mail and I got in. Hope the same goes for you guys!

…ehz-

I applied for Engineering and Technology as well.
I have 80 M 74 W 68 CR PSAT when I applied. Hadn’t taken the SAT yet when I applied. Wish I had :frowning: (770M, 800W, 800CR). I hope we find out soon, and I hope we get in!

I got accepted into Sciences. :)

Looking forward to meeting some of you guys!

And if you’re worried about PSATs scores, don’t. My PSAT was 214, which sucks…

It appears that those who got in are getting messages first. :(

I just found out I got in governor’s school for Science…I’m really excited. yeah i thought i wasn’t going to make it also because my PSAT scores were 209…horrible.

I got into GS Sciences as well. Looking forward to meeting you guys! :)

I thought I wasn’t going to get in either… PSATS: 184
I’ve realized that it’s not ALWAYS about scores.

The wait may be nerve-wracking but hang in there jwman92. :)
