NJ Governors School of Sciences

Who made it past counties?

Did you receive your letter? You're lucky if you did, I applied for Public Issues and I haven't received anything yet.

At least they posted the dates for each of the schools (and Public Issues only lasts for 2 weeks... NJ budget cuts are a bummer.)

:D Me!

Except, they said I was missing a form, even though I'm sure I had everything in there... so now I have to fuss with guidance again.

I did! :D

I wish I put more effort into my application though, but I only found out two days before the deadline.

It's kind of funny though, cause my school never nominates people, but it seems like a lot of schools have kids that go every summer.

The last and only time any one went from my school was 2000, to the School of Arts, because our high school band was one of the best in the country.

I hope I get in. (:

lol, Our band has always been one of the best, but usually the person nominated for art is not in band?. We nominated people every year, and have about 2 that end up going each year (to all the schools), but we didn't have a science last year...

Eh, I wish our school actually told kids about oppurtunities they had.

Ha, that's what I get for living in a farm town in the middle of NJ.

I applied to GSS but now I am really worried about getting in. I really want to.

I got my PSAT scores back and i did horrible. They want students who reached the 90 percentile and i didnt

I am scared and i really want to get in.

Does the PSAT score matter that much to get accepted??

Yes, also would like to know!
PSAT scores sucked for me, except my Math individual score was good. Do you know if they consider just math or the composite score?? :c

I applied to the School of International Studies, but from what my guidance counselor told me, the PSATs are basically just one part of your application. I didn't do too well on them either (the only scores that I have are my soph. ones, and I believe they decided to send my SATs instead) so I was a little concerned. The essays and the teacher recommendations as well as whatever else contributed to the application do count for something though. I wouldn't stress too much about your PSAT scores now, especially since the apps. are in.
