neon321: If you look on the first page in the summer programs sections, there’s a thread called NJGS for Science two topics under this thread. But I guess what I was proposing is kind of stupid anyway. Whatever, stay here! lol Also, I’ll stick to my guns and say essays are weighted most.

I think i epically bombed one of the essays and I think I did well on the other one. Assuming my recs, transcript, ecs, and scores are excellent, would that compensate for a poorly written essay?

bumpppppppp.

bumppppp. attempt to revive this thread.

I’ll help you revive it… sigh… why does it take them so long to review applications?

Has anyone received the confirmation email for engineering yet…?

It makes sense if you think about it why it takes them so long to decide who’s in. They receive approx 500 apps and accept around 90 (per program). Now, if a committee reviews all the apps collectively, they would have to spend at least 10 minutes per app in the preliminary round just to cut down the number to around 250 apps. After narrowing it down to a list of around 250 apps, I’m guessing that picking the top 90 ends up being a crapshoot, and probably a lot of deliberation on the part of the reviewers. Seeing that these people probably have lives, and that they don’t finish all of them over a weekend or so, a span of 12ish weeks is reasonable.
