It would have to be the date they are mailed. It is the only date they have any control of.

My d is homeschooled,although she’s a college early entrant–haven’t got her NMSC letter yet–waiting

My school called us down today and the principal and guidance counselors all clapped for us. I am so relieved! It seems like a dream come true, knowing I can now attend college without a huge debt. The other NMF students didn’t even seem to be aware of the notification timeline and why we were being called down. They also seemed completely unaware of the amazing scholarship opportunities that come with this honor. I am able to happily turn down at least one ivy and some top school acceptances for undergrad with the peace of mind that for the next four years my tuition is paid. Now if I can just narrow it down to my top choice out of four great schools. What a wonderful position to be in. Without this program, I would not be able to attend college fulltime. Congrats to each of you and to those still waiting - best of luck!

We received the school letter on Monday the 7th in Colorado - no personal letter yet.
They were delayed due to snow - coming out of Chicago which was largely snowed in on the 1st, the date for mailing notices.

We understand, snowbound17. You all have difficult decisions which come with your opportunities. My own daughter is switching her top choice from the college she has counted on for years, which only offers 50% tuition for NM, to one that offers full ride for up to 10 semesters. Looking closer, she has pretty well decided that the peace of mind with not worrying about making next year’s payments outweighs the advantages she has perceived in other schools. The closer she looks into her new first-choice school, the better it looks. Hopefully that won’t change when she actually visits the campus!
Congrats to all, and best of luck in your decision process. Just think of the wonderful honor it is to have these decisions to make!

Haven’t yet received notification either way in Northern VA. Anyone else from our area already heard good news (or bad)? I wasn’t expecting to hear anything until March, and am hopeful NMF status happens in the next week, because counselor is sending Mid-Year Reports and would be great to include Finalist standing. So nervous for S!

Just got the personal letter today (Cincinnati, Ohio). Kinda interesting… I got this before my school, as they have not told me anything yet.

jkiwmom, I haven’t heard anything in No. VA. I go to a huge school, though, and they’re slow with getting news to us. Didn’t get the personal letter today, either.

Latest from Wisconsin: Son #2 got his Finalist letter. Now will join Son #1 at Auburn. War Eagle!

Got my letter today! Dad was commended in the 60’s and both kids finalists!

So if you haven’t received a rejection letter, are you a finalist?

^I have the same question as iceberg.
I haven’t gotten my letter yet, and I don’t think my school has either…
Where are they mailed out from? Virginia? Washington? New York?

If you folks didn’t receive a rejection letter just rest easy. The finalist notification should arrive in the next day or two…congrats!

Iceberg…YES!

Northern VA, got it in the mail today! Still no notification from the school.

Any idea where they send the letter for early entrant. Do they send to college financial aid office where she atends. very nervous.
