Tell your mom the driving's not so bad once she gets used to it (I am the master of driving......over 900 miles since Sunday and that is routine for my week).

MDog795-I had a feeling that NMH didn't have any openings. The secret is out that NMH is a great school and they had a lot of applicants this year. Do you have to find a school for this year? You'll have better odds of finding a school that will be a good fit rather than just settling.

While I don't have to find a school, I definitely want to get out of my old one as soon as possible. Who knows? NMH could have some movement. With the economy in recession, there could be people who decide to back out of attending.

Hahah I backed out :P
good luck

How much of a percent chance do you guys think there will be movement in the class? I mean they didn't say that there was a little to none chance, but they said there not sure, but something could happen.

I'm not really sure, but I would say that there is more of a chance than there would be at other schools, namely because the students at NMH are more likely to be barely making tuition than at other schools, because NMH attracts a more economically diverse student body.

Oh, and, is anyone bringing a bike?

I'm going to bring one

I was thinking about borrowing one from my aunt until my birthday, when i might ask for one. It would be a little difficult to make the airplane trip with it.

The "I hate this school" group on Facebook is comprised (and was started by) PGs who got into college already at the beginning of the year and had nothing to do for several months.
The picture associated with the group is of a dorm called North Farmhouse-- and, as you can tell, the dorm isn't so nice (and isn't in a great location). I'm not sure if it'll be a dorm next year, it wasn't during the 06-07 school year.
There are students at NMH who dislike the administration but still do like the school. Additionally, as of yet the school wasn't very unified in terms of school spirit. Perhaps this will change with the new buildings on campus. But all these things lead (some) students to join (and make) these kinds of groups.

Farmhouse has been used as a dorm for many years; not sure if they will need to keep using it if they open up one of the cottages again.

Cottages 2-3 are under renovation and will not be open until '09-'10.

Greenfield, MA (which is also a nice, unique small town).

Unique is one way to describe Greenfield, lol...interesting people watching, at any rate.

I wouldn't call the part kids go to "nice."

It's not too bad, but it certainly doesn't qualify for being "nice." It's also not so small (~18,000 people).

Northfield, on the other hand, is a nice, unique, small town.

Kent is nice to. =)

Aussie13, I am wondering why you are still posting so regularly on the two NMH threads. I went back and read what you've been posting, and mostly it has been abound Kent. I checked the "accepted/rejected" and compared it to your posts, and I see that you were accepted at Kent but not at NMH. Since then you have interjected regularly here on the NMH threads and often to mention Kent.

I saw that you started a thread looking for reassurance that Kent is a good school. I am sure I speak for everyone here, we are happy that you were accepted at such a fine school. I wish you the best at your new school. But this thread is for current and prospective NMH students and parents. Obviously you are welcome here with constructive information and input. But please be thoughtful of the thread's population and purpose. Thanks.

Dont you think it would have been better to PM then write out a whole little assault on me?
You could have also kept it short and simple but I guess I had it coming. =)
P.S I wanted to post on every thread last night, it's not because I was trying to purposely disrupt your little party.
Sorry again.

In retrospect Aussie13 is correct. The better course would have been to contact her directly. I apologize for the etiquette breach, honey. Best of luck at Kent.

I'm going to stick up for aussie...HE IS A GUY NOT A "HONEY"!!!!!!

lol ROFL
