No email response from colleges ...?

Hi!

So quite obviously, similarly to other thousands of international applicants, I have some concerns about filling my application. There is probably no point asking here about them as you guys would hardly know how to answer them, simply because each country has different policies and education systems.

I've firstly tried to email common app staff and asking them, but they have told me that it would be better to contact my choices and ask them. So I did. Over the past month, I have sent emails to Harvard, MIT, Princeton and Yale. From Harvard, the response was an automatized email, referring to a newsletter. So I tried again and I got the same response. MIT did not respond at all, nor Princeton or Yale (allthough I've emailed Yale yesterday).

I do not know if the emails were rude, I've done my best to write them as formally and clear as I could, yet, there was no answer. I mean, this is rather ridiculous. If colleges refuse to answer your questions, who will? Should I fill the application on my own, do irrational decisions and then get declined simply because it was filled wrongly?

Any guess what I should do? Thank you.

Why not just ask your questions here in the mean time? We’ll try to answer you to the best of our knowledge.

It happened a few times to me too. Once, I forwarded an email for four times in a week and then I got an answer. One of my friends forwarded an email for like 10 times and he got an answer after 20 days! So, there is nothing to do, other than to wait. Why don’t you call them?

Did you read the school’s websites to see if there is specific information telling international students how to apply? I often saw special pages of info and FAQ’s on the admissions portion of school websites.
Did you send the email to the admissions department?
