More Info
I just don't know where I should be aiming, do I have a good chance (though I know that no one really has a 'good' chance) at Stanford, Princeton, or Yale? Or maybe Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth.. Vanderbilt, Georgetown, or UVA perhaps? Carnegie Mellon, UNC, and NYU? I just dont know where I stand, and if I have a good chance at any of these schools, if some of them are safeties or not.. I'm completely lost here. So please give your feedback! Much appreciated!

Although you are an underrepresented minority and a female, you should still try to raise your SAT score by ~200 points. That way you’ll have a pretty decent chance at HYPS. I’d say you’re a high match/reach for all the schools listed, unless you raise your SAT, which will boost your chances considerably. Can you please chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1551040-please-chance-me-columbia-engineering-ed-uiuc.html</a></p>

You have a decent shot at all the Top 25 national universities and LACs. Request information (dont fill out an SAT score yet - a freshman score is meaningless but provide as much information as you can). I assume you’ll also apply to UNC-CH.
Now, you need to think of safeties; what kind of school would you like? UNC Asheville and North Carolina State are safeties for you at this point, for example, Elon for business. Or would you rather go out of state? NYU Stern is a match but their financial aid is dicey. Any national LAC ranked 45-75 would be a safety for you so get yourself Princeton review’s 378 colleges, Insider’s guide to the colleges, Fiske guide, and start reading. For many top schools, “fit” will be an essential criterion so it’s important to know what you like, why, what in your experience demonstrates that, and how you’d be a good fit for the schools you’re interested in.

Brandeis if you fancy test-optional schools…

NYU is a good match, but don’t expect much financial aid. Northeastern in Boston’s a low match. Carnegie Mellon is a high match/low reach-and the ivies are dicey, but if you raise the SATS (as I’m sure you will) you have a chance.

Chance me?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1550924-chance-senior-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

With a better SAT (+200 to 250) and some good essays/recomondations NYU, CM, Georgetown or UNC should be a (low) match to safety. Stanford and Ivies would be a reach; it’s hard for everybody to get in there. USC, UCLA or CalTech could be interesting, too.
Want to help me as well?

But from 9th grade to 11th grade it’s possible that one’s SAT score undertakes a 250-point bump. And, even so, Georgetown is still a reach (but GWU could be a low match for the OP then) and UNC is a low match/match.

Nice ECs and good work at school. Your SATs, as mentioned, need up about 300 to make roughly the top 30 ish schools.

Looking at your list and major of Software Engineering or Computer Programming, Carnegie Mellon, Columbia ( especially ED you’ve a damn good shot with upped SAT scores) or Stanford might be the best bets on these. Perhaps Rice University might be worth looking into as reaches? Thats my best guess. Ucals would be also worth looking into, but I’m far less knowledged on those, being an east coaster.

Nice work in school so far!

UCs are unaffordable to non-California residents. UMass Amherst is a good bet at this stage.
