Where would I fit?

Hey, just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for colleges. I'm not sure about what I want to major in, but I'm thinking maybe Journalism/Communications, History, Psychology, Sociology, or other Social Science-type electives.

GPA UW: 3.75 out of 4
GPA W: 4.46 out of a possible 4.71 that I could have earned.
Total AP classes taken/will take: 6 (My school messed with AP schedules, or I
could have taken more, but there are people in my school who have
taken more than I have)
Total Honors classes taken/will take: 15

Senior Schedule will have 3 AP classes, 4 Honors, 1 Regular (Newspaper).

SAT I: CR: 800
Writing: 790
Math: 740

Will take SAT II's soon (Will take Maths I & II, US History, and Literature) (Considering taking the World History one, but I took World History in ninth grade, so I don't know if I should)

Extracurriculars
Usher at Church (75 hours) (7th through 12th grade)

Induction- National Latin Honors Society-State
Induction-NC Scholar- State

I will also take the AP exams too, and I plan on doing well on them (fours and fives).

If it matters, I am a first generation American (from Ireland), and I will be the first person in my family to attend college. My hook will most likely be coming from a low income family with no record of a secondary school education, or my drumming ability (I'm pretty good, and I plan to form a band over the summer). I will need a lot of financial aid.

Don't take Math I and II. That's stupid.

wow, i didn't know that those schools were in my reach (sort of). I'm taking the math I this may, but if I don't like that score I'll take the Math II, because I think that I can do better on that one with it's easier curve. But if I get a really good score on the Math I, then I won't take the Math II.

Also, my class rank is top 5%, barely (24 out of 537).

i dont know where the above people have gotten their schools from, since you dont tell us how big you would like the school to be, where (location and setting), 'feel' of campus, any particular things you'd like the campus to have (i.e. a certain sports team, radio, newspaper, a capella, theater, arts, etc etc etc).

It'll look bad to colleges if you've taken precal and took Math I and not II.

^yeah, i thought of that too late to change it, but oh well. Do you think that I should take the math ii even if i do good on the math i.

In response to huskem, I don't really care about campus size, location, or anything else. I would like for it to be a good reputable school with a good journalism/history program, and if it has a good campus radio station, that would be cool. Also, I would like to be on the school's newspaper.

This is just random, but do you think that USC is a good school to try to apply?

so you would be equally happy in a tiny picturesque school in the middle of nowhere AND as at a huge school in the middle of a metropolitan area with no real campus?

you could see yourself living in an environment where winter lasts 6 months and november-march is positively frigid AND at a school where the weather never gets below 70 degrees?

you'd be equally content if most people party on the weekends AND if the student body typically studies on friday nights and spend saturday nights playing games?

just things to think about.

^yes i would be equally content. I just want to find good journalism schools, then I'll pick from the schools that I get accepted to. It's not that i dont care about other factors like location, etc., but my first priority is the quality of the journalism program.
