No Interest from Duke?

I'm really worried I won't get accepted at Duke because I haven't seen any mailing/emails/information from them. I have, in the past few months and year, seen many emails and mailings from similar schools such as Northwestern, WashU, and even "higher" schools like Yale. Yet, I've received no contact from Duke at all. On top of that, I signed up to be on their mailing list on the website a couple of months ago and still have not received a single mail. Can anyone explain this?

One last note, I also sent my name to them for the National Merit high scoring mail (where you can select up to two schools), and they haven't acknowledged they received it. My other school sent me an email saying good luck in the national merit competition.

Dont worry- i didnt get anything from them before signing up, and only one or two mailings after signing up and still got in, that honestly has no impact on your decision.

I think the only thing we have received from Duke is their poster-size mosaic picture of Duke Chapel. They definitely do not seem to work as hard at marketing as other schools.

I’ve gotten the same poster of pictures thing, but you’re right that they don’t seem to send out as much mail as some of the other schools… I made sure I was on their mailing list, since that’s a way of showing my interest, and you might want to do the same. Go to their admissions site to double check that you’re on their mailing list

They rarely send paper mail since they’ve started a green initiative and plan to be carbon neutral. They have you fill out pretty much all your forms/bills online.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Advertisements from colleges are mostly gimicks to lower admission rates

Don’t worry; the same exact thing happened to me (maybe one pamphlet in the mail, one generic email or something) and I got accepted to Duke. No worries.

Duke doesn’t, because it doesn’t have to.
