No Pass/Pass

Just wondering if anyone is pretty familiar with the nopass/pass policy.

Currently taking phys 20b: cosmology to fulfill a GE, but getting a B in the class will hurt my cumulative GPA. Projecting a B bc I've been getting B's on my hw, worth 10% each, and we only have two hw assignments. And I think I bombed the midterm we just had.

Does anyone know until when I can declare nopass/pass?
Does it depend on department? (i.e. physical sciences)
I'm part of the undeclared school.

I'm asking this here bc I cannot get into contact with any administrative offices during the weekend, and I'm in need of a quick response.

do you really need to post on here?.. just look it up on the UCI Registrar website… Its there.

most of these kids are high schoolers anyway.

The registrar will NOT help you. It differs with every school/department that the class itself belongs to. I know arts allows up to week 10.

Show me where on the registrar that it will answer my question.

I’m asking if there are anyone here that knows the answer, if not, then so be it. Nothing wrong with posting questions on a forum.

check the department website, maybe they will have more info. as far as i know, for many departments it is until week 6

This is from Webreg, search for classes in the physics department:

“Students who wish to drop a class or make a grade option change after Week Two should do so in person at the Physics Student Affairs Office, FRH 4109, Monday through Friday 9am-12pm. STUDENTS WHO FAIL TO FILE AN OFFICIAL DROP CARD WITH THE REGISTRAR WILL RECEIVE A GRADE OF “NR” IN THE COURSE. AN “NR” TURNS TO AN “F” OR “NP” AFTER ONE QUARTER OF ATTENDANCE.”

you can still change your grading option…but you need your dean’s signature after you get the signature of your teacher.

Thank you so much.
