<p>Okay, i realize that I'm an idiot, and thus probably don't deserve to go to Davidson, but still...</p>
<p>First, I thought it needed to be postmarked by the 2nd. Is this true? I thought it was, but I have heard conflicting responses.</p>
<p>Second, the post offices are now closed the 2nd, which was when I was planning to send some supplements. I can submit the commonapp online before then, but I can't submit my supplementals until the 3rd</p>
<p>Third, I live in NJ, so the post won't get there very soon. which is a big prob if it needs to be in by the second.</p>
<p>so... what do i do? i think im going to go ahead and just do everything i can ASAP and maybe even e-mail the admissions office with my dilemma, but will that just alert them to my incompetence?</p>
<p>i feel so stupid, everything is so wrong. i didn't know that there was no post on the 1st even until a couple days ago. and now this- it's like my worst nightmare.</p>
<p>Send it FedEx if you can, overnight. If that is not possible, just get to the post office as soon as it opens and send it by some means of trackable fast mail--the post office closing is a national thing so obviously Davidson and every other U.S. school will be well aware of the no-January-1-or-2 postmark problem.</p>
<p>I was freaking out about it, but my mom sat me down and said "You did not know the post offices were going to be closed, so it is NOT your fault. And honestly, if a college is going to reject you because something is postmarked one day too late for reasons you cannot control, why would you want to go there?"</p>
<p>So mine's just going to be postmarked on the third and that's how it's going to be.</p>
<p>if you live near an airport, they may have a post office you can send it from. I live in greater cincinnati and the airport post office there is open 24/7 365... im a procrastinator too and waited until the last couple days to finish my supplement too but then realized the post office would be closed... but either way I think Jan 3 is going to be fine since the only reason they make it Jan 2 instead of Jan 1 is because of the holiday</p>
<p>wow. thank you! that's what i was going to do anyway, but it relieves a bit of stress and anxiousness. i wish i weren't so scared of the phone. (it's irrational, i know, but i can't help it!)</p>
