What's wrong with turning down Harvard for Penn? I personally would do the same.

Harvard for UNC is a bit of a stretch though lol

What's wrong with turning down Harvard for Penn? I personally would do the same.

Harvard for UNC is a bit of a stretch though lol

haha penn state or upenn

UPenn. Nothing is wrong with it. I'm just saying that it would be more legitimate to post that instead of turning down Harvard for Yale. And turning Harvard for UNC is not unheard of. I've met several Morehead who have done that.

yup... tons of morehead has turned down harvard/ivies for unc... i think if u go back a few posts someone DID.

upenn wharton's 7 year programs are total worth it to turn down harvard for. (you're not suppose to end a sentence in a preposition, right? oh well.. ) i personally would turn down HYPSM for it.

I would personally turn down YPSM for Morehead--like mradio did. Even with a full scholarship to harvard, I still might pick Morehead....

wait what? turning down columbia for penn is more legitimate to post or turning down harvard for penn?

neither...turning down HYPSM (any of them) for UNC (whether it is b/c of morehead or not) is more legitmate

It would be more legitimate to post turning down Harvard for Penn than turning down Harvard for Yale. If you're still confused, disregard the whole thing because the value of my comment is not that great.

Correction, I didn't turnd down HYPSM for the Morehead. I got rejected from P and S :( . I turned down Penn, Dartmouth, and Cornell. However, I'm not sure if I'd take the Morehead over a full-scholarship to Harvard. I'd probably have to contemplate until the end of April, and then I think I'd lean towards Harvard.

I got the morehead....but i turned it down.

I think I said this already....dejavu (lol...the French cannot spell), but I turned down Princeton, columbia, brown-plme. UNC (morehead), dartmouth for Northwestern HPME + full ride

NOOOOOOOO! You're kidding me! You must've really hated UNC or didn't have trouble paying for your final choice.

That explains it.......

yeah. it was tuff. My friend Danielle got the Morehead too; she got into Harvard and like 10 other schools, but decided, in the end, to accept the morehead.

I've visited UNC 3 times. 1st time Summer after sophomore year..loved it cuz i didn't know much about colleges in general. From there i started planning out my life at UNC. Senior yr UNC became my safety school; and if i had to have a safety school, i wanted to make sure it was TOTALLY safe, so i applied for Pogue and Morehead, got both and visited UNC for both selection weekends...that's when I saw that I wouldn't fit in there. UNC is a lot like my school, which is in NC. I wanna get out of the south.

The morehead is so great. I'm still worried about FA because it's not a guarantee at private universities and I need FA to stay in school, but that's the least of my problems, I think. I really hope I don't regret taking the Morehead.

You really can't beat HPME. . .i'm already guaranteed into med school.

I turned down BU for American U... does that count?

I'm still on the UNC waitlist though.

that totally counts... what are you going into? i didnt even know what american was but i applied to it anyways cuz it was free :D ....

they kept asking for my "official" SAT grades and i thought "screw you, washu, umich, and wellesley didnt ask for my official grades; they were fine with the one my GC sent them on my transcript... im not gonna waste 7 bucks on u if i never paid app fee"

American University is an ok university. Princeton Review has it in their book, so it can't be that bad. They gave it 3 out of 4 stars in academics. Plus, it's in D.C.!

AU is not that bad; its even listed on CC :D... and there are less than 367 or however many there was on PR on CC... so it cant be that bad. but BU is definitely more "prestigous"... i was visiting the AU board, and this person with 900 something got accepted... i have never even heard of 900 and did not know anyone can score that low... my friends and i think anything below 1300 is unacceptable.... i mean, even if you NEVER TOOK nor PRACTISED nor STUDIED u'd at least get a 1200 or something... maybe if you didnt sleep for 3 days straight, then you'd get a 1000-1100... but those are rare scores

xokandy, what did you score?

You have some smart friends. At my school, a 1200s are good, a 1300s are high, and 1400s... well let's say I def. know of one and possibly of another person besides me that got one. However 3 kids w/ 1400s and 1500s did leave junior year for a magnet school. I have one friend with a 900... got into Elon, rejected at App State, waitlisted at Western Carolina. Know a ton of people with 1100s and 1200s. And quite a few of them do really well in difficult classes, but they work their asses off.

haha its not even funny i literally took it FIVE TIMES

1) score was cancelled cuz the proctor didnt know what she was doing and we didnt finish test until 2:30... worst experience EVER
2) 1330 -- 590/740
3) 1350 -- 610/740
4) 1450 -- 650/800
5) 1550 -- 750/800

i didnt end up sending it to all the colleges (4 each time)... ironically i sent the 1350 to wellesley and was accepted there, but the 1550 didnt get me into harvard :(
