I’m assuming it is, and because they need to fill as much as possible, they’re going to see how many more they can accommodate, if anything it’s essentially good news for us, but it’s just the waiting thats killer.

NEW UPDATE ON PORTAL :(

Waitlist Notificaton Update

Unfortunately, we must extend our waitlist notification timeframe past May 18th because we are still in the process of determining available space for our waitlisted population. We know this is a frustrating time and we apologize for the delay. This timeframe extension is necessary due to several system- and campus-wide matters, including the current budget environment and available classroom seats. In the meantime, we encourage you to solidify your college plans at other institutions. As soon as a decision has been made, it will appear on your MyUCR account.

I don’t want to give up hope but do you guys think they’ll be accepting people off the waitlist this year? It seems like they won’t be because if they had enough space wouldn’t they have already done so? Like UC Irvine? Is it possible that UCR will not be admitting off waitlist this year?

but don’t you think that there are people on the uci waitlist that SIRed to UCR? so if they got in there would for sure be more room at UCR, and this is also including UCSB waitlist. Also, UCI accepted people from appeal, don’t you think that there are people that were rejected to uci, that SIRed to UCR but appealed to UCI and got in, leaving more room?

Sorry essencematters I’m just really hopefuly, and I hope this instills hope in you too don’t give up, and you could always appeal to ucr as well. Try until you can’t anymore

I got this message!!!

"Welcome to the University of California, Riverside and MyUCR.

We are glad you decided to pursue your education at one of the nation’s finest institutions. Take a good look at UCR. You’re going to like what you see!"

samee!!! i dont think it means were in tho? I got so excitedd!!! but then when i went to my growl to see if i can do SIR it didnt let me :(

I got this

Welcome to the University of California, Riverside and MyUCR.

We are glad you decided to pursue your education at one of the nation’s finest institutions. Take a good look at UCR. You’re going to like what you see!

what does it mean?

I got the same message too!!! But there is really limited information, it doesn’t say anything about due dates or sirs. What could this possibly mean?

I got this too!!! but then it wouldn’t let me SIR. GOD. I really hope I can get in now!

What if they just haven’t turned the SIR on for us?

its just a message , instead of teling us to wait more its just a message sayinng thanks for choosing ucr thats it i wish it meant we are in but unfortunatley im pretty sure it doesnt :(

nevermind, I think it was a glitch if you check now its back to normall!!

LOL. ucr changed it back. okay. i guess someone is just messing with it…

yeah… that was horrible.

I was at prom all day yesterday so I didn’t bother checking. I guess there still isn’t news? haha.
But who knows, maybe it’s a prelude to something we’ll see tomorrow? I honestly think we have a good chance, other colleges are stealing kids away from UCR with wait list and appeal acceptances that UCR has to keep extending its deadline because they want to let in as much people as possible in order to get as much funding as possible.

The “We are glad you decided to pursue your education at one of the nation’s finest institutions. Take a good look at UCR. You’re going to like what you see!” message was a system glitch. No waitlist decisions have been made yet. They’re hoping to reach a decision this week.

What are the chances that we are getting in? I just want something to look forward too. If UCR is lagging it that probably means that they really don’t have any space for us. Or could it possibly mean that a lot of UCI kids are pulling out their SIR?

I mean, its hit or miss. But if they didn’t have the space, they have nothing to lose by saying “Thanks for trying but no”
I think they keep pushing back their deadlines as other colleges are stealing Riverside’s kids causing them to reevaluate how much room they have then selecting the best kids on the waitlist. Either way, they should at least update us on the situation as to why its not being released or when the next possible date would be. I’d rather be told a date and have it not come true then have to check every 10 minutes like a headless chicken running around.

still waiting for the decision its been really hard these past couple of days. how are you guys dealing with it? and what are your feelings on the results?

I was originally really upset the past couple weeks when they kept extending it, now I’m almost used to them not being able to release decisions on time. It kind of takes away the feeling of wanting to go to the school, but I mean, we came this far, there’s no point in giving up hope.
