I’ll look into that. We just organized a “Nextdoor” site for the condos and I’ll post something there.

Hey I just posted a photo from the 21st Century track on the FB parents page if anyone wants to see it. :)

Hey I just posted a photo from the 21st Century track on the FB parents page if anyone wants to see it. :)

I just checked Instagram and tag board. Lots of cute pix. But just like camp, where the hell is my kid?

We made it! Sitting outside at a bar on magazine street. I’ll see you all here tomorrow. !!

There’s a video on Instagram that is cracking me up!!! They are all at Mulate’s (Cajun restaurant) tonight:

S finally called last night for a minute - he sounds good - don’t know much more than that…he never picked up his advance-shipped boxes - no time??? See everyone tomorrow!

I could be wrong about this, but I thought the advanced ship boxes were only available the Saturday morning of move-in, even for NOLA Experience students. But I could be completely off on this.

The school sent specially colored shipping labels for NOLA kids. 2 boxes could be sent earlier than the rest. He was supposed to pick them up on the Monday he got there in Bruff but he was too busy since he plane landed close to the start up time of the program. Not sure why he has not been able to find the time to get them since - it will make move in easier.

OK, thanks. That is great to know. I guess he is just busy! That’s a good thing, right?

Wonder if my S got his boxes? Doing lots of wondering, but it’s really his problem. Been getting random texts, asked him to send me a list of what he needs me to bring for tomorrow. “Busy Mom. Let you know later.” At least he sent a text back :D

It is almost hard to imagine how overwhelming the changes are for them. New home for all practical purposes in a new city, all new people, roommate maybe for the first time in their lives (at least on an extended basis), and the busyness that goes along with the NOLA program during the day and the fun at night. I am sure they are all having a blast, but it is a lot to process, even if they don’t fully realize it themselves.

If D2 has one complaint it’s that they are TOO busy. Not enough down time.

Well, see? Now when classes start it will seem like a cakewalk.

I just survived the BB&B trip (glad I came on Thursday). I found it, no problem and it was not crowded at all. I did have to laugh at the WELCOME STUDENTS sign outside. How about WELCOME PARENTS, WHO ARE PAYING FOR EVERYTHING. ??

Got a text from my son today that sounded kind of cranky. Then he apologized and said “Sorry, I’m just tired. This thing is exhausting!!” but assured me that he’s really happy he did it. They went kayaking today.

My flight was filled with parents and students, mostly freshmen girls. But there were several rowdy upperclassmen who got pretty drunk on the plane. Mind you, this was an 8am flight.

Bloomy, From the little I’ve heard from my daughter, he wouldn’t have time to pick up packages. Apparently they are spending most of the day off campus and updates are consistent with everyone like mavitale. She is up and running at seven and two short text after 11 were basically; exhausted, going to bed, ttyt. Glad you received a call though - still waiting for mine.
jozuko, Great way to start getting ready for the weekend with a stop on Magazine.

Looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow night. Plans were to bring my daughter, but with NOLA spending all day at City Park and not officially ending until 6:30 it will just be me until she calls.

Aquamom and I ran into each other at Dat Dog and here we sit taking in the scenery and the dogs.

I am at run house… Very lonely, hungry , and without cc buddies

Calmom jozuko oh2nola

Update…, lots of folks
