NOMINATION+LOA= APPt!

woooooo! Patriot, success! If you are somehow around and reading this, call them RIGHT NOW! Its Wednesday, around 2:45, and the guy is in...his name is Mr. Diamond, and I finally caught him. My interview is at 11:40 on Tuesday...hopefully you can catch them and find out as well.

YES! Thanks so much for the heads up, West, it really helped-I was just about to leave for calculus class when I saw that. Anyways, I got a hold of Mr. Diamond, and he told me my interview is 11:20am on Tuesday. You're not to far after me! Maybe we'll see each other, my name is Conor Murphy, and if you see a tall, lanky kid with blonde hair, thats most likely me.

hahaha, great, I'm glad we both finally got through this garbage. I'll be there probably around 11:20 or 11:30, so I'll be looking for you. My name is Zach West, and I have brown hair, haha, I'm pretty non-descriptive but I'll keep my eyes open for you.

DS just called me and said the nomination section on his app page had changed to "Recieved" and listed one senator and his congressman. His status was still "Letter of Assurance". I get the feeling this is all good news.

Hey - congrats to the rest of you making way in this mind numbing process.

Have you heard officially that he has a nomination? If not, then now you know he does, which is definately good news! If you already knew that, well, now the Academy knows about it, and he should be recieving his appointment .

West, I just got an e-mail from Hillary Clinton, I also have an interview with her selection panel on Tuesday the 13th. I'm assuming that you are applying for a nom. from clinton and schumer in addition to McNulty, so you'll probably get that e-mail as well.

Yeah, the AFA website kind of lets the cat out of the bag. The official notifications are scheduled for next week from the MOC's.

Congratulations!

PatriotCPM - Good luck to you next week!

Thanks very much. If I get one of these nominations, I'll get my appointment.

It can be a long time between getting both a nomination and an LOA until you recieve your appointment. It's been almost three weeks and I still haven't heard anything. But I'm sure they have a lot of paperwork to swim through out there.

Patriot...I got Clinton's e-mail today, and responded...my interview is on Tuesday at 12:20....hows about yours?...and have you heard anything from Schumer?

Son just got off the phone with senator's office - nomination and appointment letters should arrive next week. Now he just has to make the decision to accept or not. Still waiting on a couple of other colleges.

Again, good luck to West and PatriotCPM next week.

Thanks Nothemomma....it means a lot. I'm nervous as hell and extremely antsy, but I'll just be myself an try and impress them. I'm really pulling for Patriot...with that LOA, this is the last step...I was not so lucky myself, but baby steps!

West, You'll be fine, I'm sure. My Clinton interview is at 12:00 on Tuesday, so I'm 20 minutes ahead of you for both of them (and therefore probably the person right before you). I'll do my best to warm them up for you. Anyways, I'll most definately see you there, so good luck and I'll see you on Tuesday.

If you reside in the state of NY, chances are you will only receive one nomination from among 3 possible (not including Pres, VP). So if you received one from your district, and you then interview with each of your Senators and they are aware that you have already received a nomination, the chances of receiving one from them is slim. They want to give as many people as they can the opportunity to receive an appointment. I'm pretty sure that info is stated on Senator Hillary Clinton's website.

Yeah, I figured that it would be kind of pointless for anyone to get more than one nomination, because that would be taking slots from people who deserved them. Especially for someone who has an LOA, one nomination will do the trick. Sempergumby, are you from NY?

Same in Texas, they only give one each.

Congrats! Try not to get any LOAs once you get here though, haha. (LOA = Letter of Admonishment = bad)

YES!

got my appointment today in teh mail! :)
