Non drinker dorm

hey im choosing dorms and was hoping you all could advise me i was hoping i could get a primarily non drinking, light partying yet social dorm...any suggestions???

I think there may be substance free options? besides the all-girls dorms of martha cook, newberry, and barbour..you will find partying at all dorms. markley may be the most excessive, though. I dont really know about the north campus dorms, though.

For 'non drinking' dorms , you gotta choose subsatnce free housing , where all residents agree to keep alcohol and other substance away from their dorm rooms. So probably within the substance free housing , there will be some light parties et al.

thanks for the help (and i was looking at guys dorms btw)

They drink and party in substance free floors as well as non substance free. I lived on a non-substance free floor, and the main hallway reeked of alcohol thursday-saturday nights on a regular basis. This was in honors housing btw.

I've lived in a substance-free hall for three years and that while some people definitely break the rules (such as having any alcohol in your room or body), it's never overboard like that where I've been.

so for the social seen would wellness dorm be totattly disastrous

I remember my room was supposed to be substance free, according to the contract. That didn't happen...

yea, i think the sub-free option is used to make parents feel better, but students don't usually follow it to well..
