Non-stern business student? Do they exist?

Hello, I have been interested in NYU for many years now. I have just finished my junior year and was originally intending on applying to NYU CAS for psychology. But recently I have been shifting away from my interest into a more profitable setting. I am considering going for finance/economics but there's no way I could get into NYU Stern. I mean, I would if I could, but my GPA is only a 3.7 unweighted and my SAT/ACT aren't up to Stern level.

Is there a decent business program at NYU without going to Stern? If so, is it even worth it to enroll myself in it? Or should I just let the dream die and set myself on the path to another school?

Stern is NYU’s business school. Are you interested in economics? NYU CAS has that major. If you like technology with business, consider NYU Poly with the Business and Technology management (BTM) major.

You can always try CAS then internal transfer, but then you’ll have to work quite hard in your first year.

Or, just throwing this out there, NYU Shanghai (which is NYU’s new campus in China, which offers the same NYU degree that students coming out of NYU New York get) has a business/finance major. There is no telling (since the campus is so new) what the admissions will look like next year, but your GPA at least is around the average unweighted for NYUSH. You say your tests aren’t good, but what are they? I can tell you if they fit for Shanghai.

My SAT was a 1790 (I tried to take it again in June but last minute complications got in the way.)
My ACT was a 31, with 30s on everything except science. That was a 34.

Yeah, I took the SATs before I took anything else and did not do as well as I wanted, however I took the ACT after and did better just like you. Your 31 is very good! Just make sure you do not submit your SAT score, just submit the ACT- that is enough for NYU (at all their campuses). I do not think your scores set you out of the running for Stern, but I do not think you are a shoo-in either.
