Yesterday in the mail, I got my test scores back from the 2011 June test. They were as follows:
Critical reading 660
Math 780
Writing multiple choice 69
Writing essay 8
Writing combined 670
Total 2110

This was less than what I expected, but was not too deviant from my expectations, considering I studied for about 3 weeks total.

Now i can settle down and have 4 years to prepare for the test. Any hints/ suggestions?

I need SAT book / guide recommendations

The Blue Book is a must have. Purchase it by all means. I wouldn’t sit down and take an entire SAT to practice, especially since you have 4 years to take the SAT.

Are you in the Duke Tip program? Those are some excellent scores!

Instead, I just decide what to work on for a particular day. If I want to work on math, then I just go through the blue book and only do the math sections. I check my answers and try to learn from what I did wrong.

Your math is very strong. Therefore, I don’t think you’ll need a math book such as Dr. Chung’s or Gruber’s. I haven’t used Dr. Chung’s but I found Gruber’s to be tremendously helpful.

Don’t worry, you got 4 years to up that score. Speaking of upping your score, Up Your Score is a fun read :p.

And since you have 4 years left to take the SAT that’ll actually count, you should start learning vocabulary today. I don’t have any word list recommendations - my vocabulary happens to be naturally strong - but I heard that Direct Hits is a stellar choice.

Good luck!

Lol just posted this in another thread, what review book(s) have you already used?

Don’t study the SAT for 4 years.
