A bunch?! More like, people who came from NorCal to spread that hideous word! >__<;; When my older brothers heard someone say it they looked at them as if they had lost their mind…me too…hahaha. It’s so weird!!!

^
It wouldn’t catch on at all if it wasn’t awesome ;)

I shudder thinking about that word. Actually I just did. Oh gosh I hate it, I don’t know how I’ll handle it over there. >__<;;

NorCal is the best, specifically Mendocino and Humboldt counties ;)

SoCal all the way. (:

revive?

xoxo.

Socal all day.

Nicely done UCkittychen. Great topic for debate.

I’m from Socal, born and raised, but I like Norcal. Too many superficial people here thanks to the Hollywood scene and call me crazy, but it get’s annoying to me that it’s so bright and sunny just about ANY day of the year here in Socal. I actually quite enjoy slightly overcast weather. Also, people in Norcal generally do feel more genuine and real, even if some may come off as having a few screws loose. I’m kind of crazy myself anyways. :)

SC/SF/BERKELY+ are some pretty down-to-earth cities.

so would you say in socal the sun is too, “fairlytale-like”?

If your idea of a fairy-tale is sweating in a t-shirt and shorts on Christmas, than sure…lol.

Wow Jason, I feel the same way. I have lived from Ventura county to San Diego for years…but the Bay is where its at!

I can usually tell when someone is NOT from so-cal. They tend to be more fun to be around.

I’ve lived in Los Angeles county my whole life, am hoping to go up north for school, but can’t wait to get out of this state after all’s said and done.

I’ll add to that lol

i just came back from norcal. i will say i love socal more than norcal.
berkeley’s college town and building is kind of old and dirty. SF is so crowded. it is really hard to drive a car in the city. no one obey the driving rule and people are just indifferent and rude.
but stanford is just amusing place. i really wish i can get into stanford. stanford’s college town is so beautiful.
LA also beats SF in weather and food.

but i have to admit that SF is better for your career and your future since SF has a lot of VCs IBs and bid IT companies.

Lol, why is Beverly Hills on that list? It’s so boring.

LA is great because of the vibrant culture. DTLA, Echo Park, Silverlake, farmers markets at Yamashiro, food trucks, art walk, tons of galleries, Venice, Culver City (mmm Father’s Office), going to underground shows in Chinatown warehouses, low end theory (saw Thom Yorke there twice), eating tacos from random trucks at 1am near the Echoplex, grilled cheese Wednesdays at the Oaks, late night burgers at 25 degrees/Roosevelt Hotel, Jumbos Clown Room, 3 am pho, 5 am Korean food at Hodori, School Night at Bardot, pool parties at the Standard, plus all of the parties with open bars, hiking, beaches, and more.

I don’t think any city offers more. I’ll be sad to go.

On the other hand, San Diego is quite boring. Lots of scenic beauty, but it’s just culturally bleached. Everyone is white, and it felt super bro-y to me. It kind of feels like LA, thematically and architecturally, but completely devoid of the eclectic mix of individuals that makes LA feel unique.
