Normal people only!

Okay normal people, what kind of "Awards/Honors" are you guys sporting?
I feel so depressed with only two awards, "AP Scholar" and "Principal's Honor Roll".

Hey guys, where are you? :P

only honor roll a couple of times. national merit commended. national hispanic scholar.

whats funny is that its WAY below normality on CC, but i am the only national merit commended/national hispanic scholar in my entire school district!

btw, i'm not even an ap scholar lol.

Don't worry about it; the kids on CC are not a representative sample. Your awards are fine, as college applications are holistic in the sense that you are evaluated on a variety of topics.

Are you serious?? I always have a fear that the admission officers place you in a group of "Five Awards", "Four Awards", "Three Awards", "Two Awards", and "One Award" and start their decisions from there. :P

lol that would be ridiculous because there could be lots of people with awards that have very little significance.

I have given much thought to this. Sure, winning awards cannot hurt, but there have been many kids from my high school to get accepted to top schools (ala MIT, Harvard, and Stanford) who have not been as exceptional as most of the candidates who post on this site. So don't worry...

So not curing cancer or finding world peace will still make me a strong applicant?

Edit: So not winning a science fair or a math competition will still make me a strong applicant?

it won't make you a strong applicant, but it can't keep you from being one.

I have friends who like me as a person. That's enough.

But as for the original question...AP Scholar w/Honor, NMSF.
I didn't even get in to my school's National Honor Society because they didn't believe that I was physically disabled hence no ECs or Community Service! Ha!

NHS Would count as an Award/Honors???? :O

Those look good to me...I think I only put one for Cum Laude Society

NHS isn't an award... It's a club.

Hey I have none! yayyyy. =P

I have...two. =/ Honor Roll and NHS Member of the Month. Oh, and perfect attendance. So I guess three. Some people have a long list of them...

I didnt win any awards...

You guys make me feel a lot better. Would Perfect Attendence be more of a "oh I don't have anything so I'll just list this" award?

not to be negative, but i wouldn't list perfect attendance. i have that as well, but figured that many kids would have it and that admissions officers would look at that award in a questioning manner.

Would an internship count as an "Educational Preparation Program"?

NMSF is the only award I have ever won, besides things like "fastest at taking off pants" and whatnot.
