Hey guys,
Have any of u started/submitted the housing application?
In my application, it states that I am eligible for Wolf ridge apartments, but while going through some of the FAQs i got to know that it is for sophomores or above. so does anyone of u have the same thing in their application? And which dorms are the best if I am apply to residence hall?
Thanks in advance

Dang I’m sorry. I hope you get in. @Camcheer
Decision: Not Accepted
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Residency: Out-of-State (Virginia)
SAT: 1430 (730 RW, 700 M)
GPA: 3.74UW
@Camcheer Don’t feel bad. S couldn’t get in with these stats (plus National Commended Scholar, Eagle Scout, good ECs, etc.). NC State accepted him into the University Exploratory Studies Program instead (not really a consolation). S waiting to hear from U of F and Va. Tech (accepted to engineering schools at Texas A&M, UCF, and GMU).
Does anyone know how the honor college application work? Thanks
@ThemanX Not sure what you are looking for specifically, but have you read this yet?:

You can self-invite if you don’t receive an invitation. In the past the essays were an important part of the admissions process.

@SFLmom how did they notify you
@Trusting Are the Honors’ email sent out yet?
@akenny88 - first through the wolf pack website- my DD had an email to check it. A few days later a big envelope in the mail.
My sons GPA is now 4.9643 our of 5. I wonder if that will help sway the minds of the Admission board? he was deferred. Still waiting to hear from VA tech before anything else.

Decision: Deferred from EA
Major: Engineering (General for NC State I believe)
Residency: In-State
SAT/ACT: SAT only 1420 (700 Reading/720 Math)
GPA: 3.972
Your decision: Unknown
Accepted to all other Engineering programs at these schools with scholarship offers: Maryland, UNC-Charlotte, Auburn, Clemson and Colorado School of Mines. It makes me quite sad that my in-state student (born and bred in NC) will have to most likely go out of state to go to college. He took all Honors/AP courses, very involved. excellent essays- I am not sure what else he could do to get into NCSU.
@superuncmom Was he just not accepted into the engineering program or was he not accepted to the school at all?
Decision: Accepted!
Major: English
Residency: North Carolina
SAT/ACT: Comp 28
GPA: (weighted) 4.5
Your decision: Waiting to hear back from UNC-CH RD
What is your weighted GPA scale?
@superuncmom S also did not get into NC State, mechanical engineering (GPA 3.74UW, 4.22W; 1430 SAT (730 RW, 700 M)). He’s a National Commended Scholar, Eagle Scout, etc. Looks like it was just a tough year to get in. S has been accepted everywhere else (all engineering): Texas A&M, University of Florida (just found out), UCF, and GMU. The last two with scholarships, and honors college at UCF. (Waiting on Va. Tech.)
U of F was really tough this year – 35,000 applications for 6600 slots. Wondering if there’s been a spike in STEM applications nationwide, especially at attractive pubic engineering schools, in the past few years.
All the schools you listed are EXCELLENT – your S still has a luxury of terrific options. All the best to him.
@superuncmom My son was also deferred. In state, 5 in his class, 4.96 GPA now ( was 4.875). Eagle scout, Eagle scout Project of the year for the Council in our part of the state, Ham radio… Internship Jr year at a BIG electrical music company . Several AP classes, Varsity letter, Band, First Robotics. 100+ hours of volunteer work. travels to all the schools in the area to teach the teachers how to use 3 D printers. . Accepted to Penn state, UNC Charlotte, ETSU and waiting to hear from VA tech. He was rather upset about being deferred to NC State.
