Alan91, no. I am not sure. I just thought for Northeastern that this is why you received decision already. But again, I am not sure of that. Last year there were decisions that come in for NEU in late February, then mainly mid march.

oh okay thanks. I hope it is that way.
Can you please post your stats and to which universities have you applied?

I’m just a parent who’s D applied to NEU : ) Anxiously awaiting decision!

well best wishes to her… I hope she gets accepted. is it her top choice??
Well then could you please post her stats and intended major

It depends on the college. I actually work for a college and they publicize a date where students can check their portal and learn if they’re accepted (followed by the formal packet in the mail). But others do have rolling admissions. I thought that NEU didn’t have rolling so I wonder - as Susieqz does - if it’s because you’re an international applicant? Interesting!

I also just saw that transfer student decisions are on a rolling basis starting February (but they have an April 1st deadline to apply) In March of 2011, there was a post on NEU’s site that decisions were ready on a specific day. From 2011: My Blog;

well tbh, I was surprised too BTMell. I came home after a typical night with friends and opened my email and I suddenly saw NEU’s email. I didn’t sleep the whole night
But I don’t think I will go, unless stanford, UC berkeley, UCLA and U michigan all reject me. I hope they don’t

thats true susieqz. I don’t know why I received mine. Maybe they give out honor program decision early.

This might sound arrogant, but I’m expecting to be accepted into the honors program. I’m 99% sure I have the stats for it.

Congrats to you Alan91, but your acceptance has me a bit worried about my own status. My NEU page is, unfortunately, still barren.

Maybe that’ll change next week?

(Seriously though, congrats again! You should be proud, as should everyone else who got in.)

thanks opalin!
I hope you get in

I am actually very proud and happy.
Btw, do you think I could get into very good grad schools with northeastern or wht the universities mentioned above

Congratulations to the early admits.

@Alan

What was your scholarship called? Was it University Scholars?

Hi! I just received my acceptance into the physics program regular decision. 2150 SAT 3.9 GPA UW 4.6GPA W
given 12k/yr scholarship! Alan how did you know you were accepted into honors?

My D got accepted today in University Scholars Program (full-tuition) scholarship. So excites.

Congratulations! How did you learn of the acceptances - via email?

Son got a surprise email yesterday with the good news. Accepted with a $20,000 Dean’s scholarship!

My daughter received an email two days ago offering her admission to the honors program along with a substantial scholarship offer (full tuition). I was the one who encouraged her to apply because of the merit scholarships they offer. She is now in the happy position of deciding between a position at Oxford University at full price and a spot at Northeastern for significantly less. I want her to visit Northeastern before making up her mind (She visited Oxford in December). But how should she weigh the prestige of Oxford against the generosity of Northeastern, especially when it’s primarily us, the parents, who’ll be footing the bill? I really want her to keep an open mind and try to determine whether she could be happy at Northeastern, but I don’t want her to go if she doesn’t feel like it’s a good fit for her. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hayucos - congratulations to your daughter! Talk about a win/win situation.

My younger son is still in the waiting phase but my older son is a sophomore in college. He had a nice win/win situation as well and had a hard time deciding. If it’s possible for her to do an overnight visit - and I have no idea if Northeastern offers such a thing - do it. My older son was able to attend a class, eat in the cafe and basically hang out with students at both places - it gave him a much clearer picture of which would be the better fit and he’s very happy to be where he is. We’ve also made it clear to both our sons that financial aid does matter and we are partners in this journey. A full ride from Northeastern would be mighty hard to not take advantage of! Good luck!

Hayucos:

Congratulations. I assume that your D got accepted into University Scholar program. There will be special days (17Mar and 18Mar) for accepted University Scholars from EA round and I assume that will be for RD scholars as well.
I think many scholars will face similar decision re full tuition scholarship, opportunity to receive special advise etc vs better known/more prestige schools. It may be worth to start a specific thread for exchange ideas. NEU is also special in regards to Co-op program. IMO, it is a different way to learning, in addition to the preparation for future jobs.

Congrats to everyone who’s been accepted early!

I’m a bit disappointed that haven’t received anything yet, but I’ll keep checking my email. Perhaps I’ll get good news in another day or two. :)
