I guess this thread is gonna be on the low till the 25th… :((

For those of you who have gotten your decisions, have any of you put down your deposit?

@transfer333 No, I’m still waiting on two more schools and even then I’m deciding between Northeastern’s CAMD and ASU’s Cronkite J-School

@transfer333 haven’t put down my deposit yet - waiting for my financial aid information first.

@transfer333 Yes I put down my housing deposit already. Currently the northeastern student portal doesn’t have a spot for an enrollment deposit. It might be an error on my portal specifically but I have emailed them and they are working on the issue.

On a side note, I got into UNC Chapel Hill the other day. I haven’t received any scholarship info from there just yet and Northeastern has always been my #1 school plus it is in the city of Boston so I am still going there instead, but figured it was worth sharing lol.

@tankredsox, I got into UNC Chapel Hill the other day too, and got my credit evaluations, but didn’t get the impression that they offered as much financial aid or scholarships as Northeastern does.

I honestly have no idea why I haven’t heard anything from Northeastern, I sent in my application in November.

Is anyone here applying to the college of science?

The next wave will be released on April 25th. We do not yet have a number of decisions that will be released as applicants are still submitted required materials to complete their files. Thank you for your email, and please feel free to call us at 617.373.2200 with any further questions.

@ViKiVo I applied to the college of science. I’m a marine bio major.

@ViKiVo I’m applying to the College of Sciences too! I’m a biology major as well xD

Where are business majors & :"(

@PeachesOrPears @Kberry810 I am a biology major as well! I’ll be entering my sophomore year in the fall. I don’t really know what my chances are since I haven’t seen anyone post their stats as a science major but do you guys mind sharing your stats?

I’m applying as a psychology major. It’s in the college of science.

@ViKiVo
I’ll give you my stats :3 Not the most impressive stats in the world xD

GPA: 3.8
High School GPA: 3.9
Recommendation Letters: I submitted 2! One from my Chemistry professor and the other by my Biology professor! I haven’t seen them, but I hope that they’re good
Personal Statement: Talked about how the pre-med program at my current school is exactly on its feet quite yet and how I would benefit at Northeastern. Gave it my best shot!
Main Clubs/Activities Etc:
Treasurer of my Class
Treasurer of my Hall Council
Research Assistant
Pre-med Liaison
Circle K… etc

I don’t know how I stand with other applicants #-o But I can only hope for the best ^.^

@PeachesOrPears, you have great stats. I have a 3.6, but still I have seen people with a 3.2 get in. It is all about the overall applicant.

@cctransfer212 Thank You! That makes me feel a slightly bit less nervous xD Fingers crossed!

I called admissions today, and they said the next wave of decisions is coming this friday!

Does anyone know what kind of programs they offer for transfer students? Like is there an orientation just for transfers? Clubs? And they are building the new YMCA so it shouldn’t be that bad being housed there right?

@Cruz2014 I heard that they only do orientations for fall transfers because of the high volume of applicants they get in comparison to the spring transfers! And I’m pretty sure all the clubs are open to everyone! I’m not sure about housing though xD

There are activity fairs in both the fall and the spring for clubs and such. You could also check out the student activities website, which has info for all the student groups on it.

Housing for transfers has been mostly in the original YMCA building, with some students in other buildings depending on the availability and such. It’s never entirely certain how housing will be divided up year to year. The new dorm won’t open Utrillo next spring.
