Northeastern Transfer Students Fall 2011

@rh1992… Yes, the May 2 deposit deadline is essentially the date you have to let them know by. You let them know by giving them the deposit(or not). I have the same date. It’s about a month away so I hope they get the FA info out ASAP.

Congrats to those of have already been accepted. I have had most of the material in since the middle of February, but a couple things were received by the first week of March. I’m wondering how you think applications are reviewed. No one probably knows the answer to that, but they are clearly not reviewed on when they are received, seeing how a few of the accepted have had the information in for a week or so. I’m also wondering if that means they have made most of their decisions… I’m a CC student with a 3.66 who took a variety of general education credits, history, math, science, sociology, psychology etc…

I had all my stuff in since march 16 …Im dying to know !!

@NEU2011, i went to CC too and your stats are better than mine and i got in. so dont worry too much. but im still waiting to hear from fordham and i called today and what i got out of the lady who picked up was that a single counselor was in charge of evaluating my application. they even gave me her name email and phone number which i thought was weird. but hey. whatever. idk if its the same at all schools but thats what apparently what they do there.

what school is CC? and also does anyone know if they are releasing decisions based on major or just general date of application. Also is anyone applying as a Speech therapist or Audiologist/have you heard??

I dunno the order. I was accepted for computer engineering.

For reference, CC=Community College

Also, I applied as a sophomore transfer business major, and all of my stuff was received March 3rd and I’m still waiting on a decision :/

I’ve noticed that many colleges release decisions on Fridays, and it seems as though Northeastern is no exception.

@jjordan7 Yeah, I think I’m just going to call them at the end of the week to make sure everything is in, even though I know it is all in.

@jsm10021 That does seem to be the case, however, NotAClue said that he or she got in today (tuesday). So I have no idea how they are being released.

For those who have got in already, what are your stats like, what school are you coming from, and what major are you applying for?

I actually called last Friday to ask if they release only on Fridays and they told me that they do not only release answers on Friday. Also, I actually called them yesterday to see if they had everything of mine “just to check” like you NEU2011 (all of my things have been in since Feb. 1) and it didn’t get me anywhere. :frowning: Good luck everyone, hopefully the stress will be over for all of us soon!

Just submitted my app. I guess it will be complete in a few days. Any idea of how financial aid is at NU for transfers?

Stats:
College GPA: 4.0 16 credits
HS GPA: 3.7
SAT: 1250/1600, 1940/2400
Applied as sophomore as a politics major.

I also applied to BU

Well Northeastern seems to have a reputation for stingy FA overall on these boards. That’s something I didn’t realize until after I applied so for me it doesn’t feel like an acceptance until I see the FA.

Hey everyone, I just received my acceptance letter today as a transfer student for next fall and I’m a little confused about the housing process/availability for transfers…

The letter mentions finding housing options and availability on myNEU but I could only find the reslife homepage for transfers which did not mention any guarenteed availability. I called housing and was told that all first and second year students are guarenteed housing, yet my letter mentioned housing availability to be limited for transfer students…so I was wondering if anyone has further knowledge about this?

Last question-are transfer students at all housed together??

Thanks so much! Good luck to everyone! And for those concerned about GPAs I got in with a 3.2 so it seems there’s more to the decision for the applicant as a whole!

I have no idea about housing however I did find out that FA is done every Monday. So the Monday after you receive your acceptance you get your FA in the portal.

I have friends at northeastern so i go for a weekend every once in a while and i know that there are two sophomores who room on their (freshman) floor but i think they also transferred late.

I took a tour this past summer and I asked about transfer housing.

The answer I was given is that transfers do not live together. I don’t really remember the details but I remember that it is likely to be put in a suite with other upper class man. Transfers do get into nicer housing because we are upper class man but other than that I don’t think they try and put transfers together.

I asked this because I prefer for transfers o be put together. However it is just a small speedbump that could help you get friends just like living with transfers would.

Anyone received a decision this week?

I turned in my application on March 15th and all supplemental material was in by the march 22nd.

Transfer from small, CA LAC, 3.59 GPA, good EC’s, 3 semesters completed, in 4th

Applying to CAS

ahhhh I really thought I would hear today…looks like im still waiting. did anyone hear back today?

Nothing here in CA

Nothing here either :frowning: even the counselor I spoke to said it should probably have been in this week. Oh well, guess we just have to wait!
