same Aspen D...I don't even think we lectured on Meiosis for more than 15 minutes...we sort of just had to teach ourselves

ok so i exaagerated a bit.. but either way it def helps to come in with a bunch of ap credit and to have gone to a more demanding high school cuz the one thing you need to know from the first day on is how to study.

do you feel like you're always studying mia?

mia, what restaurants are in the student union food court?

aspen, its not like we're studying 24/7 but we do study a lot (but thats a given)

tangy the student union has subway, the market, a burger place (i think), a zees convenience store and a starbucks

do you have time to workout and go out with friends or like just once ina blue moon?

What is the dorm situation like? Are you in a double, single or a triple? Are you in Spanton?

yeah we have time to workout and stuff.

tangy, i was in a double then moved to a suite in spanton

thanks for the responses mia, also how is the cleanliness of the dorms? Are there any rats, roaches, or bed bugs?

Also, do you know if National Merit Finalists are eligible for NM scholarships if they are in the bs/md program?

the dorms are clean! and i have no idea about the scholarships but you do get a bs/md scholarship for the summers.

so whats the deal are you coming to akron for the program?

Thanks again for the responses. Yes I am coming to Akron for the program.

tangy, we're going to be classmates! pretty sweet =)

has anyone who applied RD heard back from them in any shape or form?

no, i havent heard from them yet :(

anybody who applied to NEOUCOM via RD, i just want to let you know that you will hear back from them in LATE january. i had remembered reading it somewhere, but i wanted to check for sure so i got on NEOUCOM's website, and it says that for RD applicants, "Applicants selected for an interview are notified by the university admissions committees in late January."

basically, don't worry. they'll mail you a letter in about 1-2 weeks. your interviews are february 25 i believe?

good luck, and best wishes! =)

mia3726: um i have a few question regarding the scholarships during the summer. approximately how much $ do they give over the summer? and is it the school that gives the scholarship? do they look at specific achievements or whatever. also, once we finish the premed curriculum and enter the med program, do they still offer scholarships. and is there a price tag change from the state university to the med school or do they have a specific price for those in that program?
sorry for shooting so many questions. LOL

RD applicants: post if you've gotten an interview invitation, and for which college(s)! =)

I got a piece of mail from University of Akron saying they've received my information from NEUCOM, and sent me a scholarship application. They also said interviews are on the 25th of February and decisions for interviews will be mailed by January 26th or so.

gonna apply for the scholarship :)

hey sory it took me a while, i kinda forgot about this haha. so about the scholarships, the specific school gives you the scholarship. at UA you get a bs/md $1000 scholarship and then any others that you applied for. im pretty sure they look at specific achievements but you have to fill out the separate scholarship app. i dont think the med school gives scholarships and then the price for the med school is different.. its the same for all med school students. just search online to see how much neoucom costs per year. hope this helps!
