Northeastern VS Boston University

I’m a little confused about this talk about how much more centrally located NEU is. I live near both. Just yesterday I walked from one to the other in no time at all. To choose NEU over BU to be closer to Newberry Street and downtown and such doesn’t make any sense. The Prudential Center almost looms over BU. You could throw a stone from BU to Fenway and Kenmore Square.

Well, IMO yes and no. NEU is plunked right in the middle of urban Boston. It is true one end of the BU campus is essentially at Kemore Square … however BU’s campus is long and skinny … the other end, which is about a mile away, is much more of a residential area. Overall NEU is, to me, is much more in the center of things Boston … but BU is certainly pretty darn close … but a bit further out.</p>

<p>My son got into both and chose BU. He’s very happy as a freshman. The facilities, resources, services, classes, etc., are top notch.</p>
