Should we take it as a negative sign if we were not contacted for an interview?
I got an email about signing up for being contacted for an interview. I havenât been contacted by an alumni and I live 45 min away from Evanston.
Was the email from the school or an alum? Just wondering what to look for. Thank me!

We are also in the burbs and my son received an email last week. He didnât see it in his email at first, so check again and check your spam to make sure you didnât miss it. It came directly from the alumni, not from Northwestern.

I donât think it means anything if you havenât received it. Like most schools it probably has to do with where you live and the number of alumni available in your area. It also sounds like theyâre just beginning the process.
Thanks! I would assume that all interviews would have been on-line anyways? But, I admit my son has not been very proactive. If he was supposed to initiate an interview - he did not. I just hope we did not miss the boat with Northwestern or any other school because of interviews.

Yes, all remote. If I recall there was an email sent that they had to respond to or click something on to say they wanted an interview and there was a deadline. I know for ours the deadline was 1/9 Iâm pretty sure. The interviews are optional and theyâre not supposed to be penalized for not having one so I wouldnât worry about it.

I requested an interview on January 7th and still havenât heard back about an interview. How long does it normally take for an alumni to contact you?
An email was sent a few weeks ago with a deadline to request an interview by. Yes, I believe Jan 9 was the date you had to make the interivew request by. So if you didnât request one by then, I suspect it is too late to request it. My son had his interview last week after having received that email with the deadline date for requesting one.
I wouldnât be too worried about it. My daughter responded within an hour of receiving the email to request an interview on Jan 6th. She received an email end of last week and will have her interview this coming week. It just depends on the alum/alumna availability in your area. You will not be at a disadvantage if they can not find an alum to interview you, they know you are interested and they will note that on your application. That said, good luck I hope you will receive an email soon!

But I didnât even receive an email asking me to request an interview so I couldnât have done it by Jan 9. I think itâs based on location and availability so no stress
Anyone else receive an email about interviews? Thereâs none left in my area even despite living somewhat near Evanston. I wonder if itâs because I applied 12/29.

I applied 12/29 and my interviewer emailed me the 14th. Odd, I wouldnt read into it though, probably just availability.

I requested an interview and got an email a week or two later! I had it last week and my interviewer was very nice. she had questions to ask from the university like what are you most proud of in high school, how would your friends describe you, what specific programs/clubs/opportunities do you want to do at northwestern, and what you would bring to northwestern. I asked 3 questions and it was a little over 30 minutes! hope this helps.

I got an email today saying they cannot accommodate my request for an interview as they have reached the capacity in my area. However, they do say that it will not put me at a disadvantage and that they will note in my file that I requested an interview
